What you are talking about is auction description. I said disclaimers, not description.
My trick is complete. We are spending too much time on this. I don't know why people are so quick to discredit me but take what I say as if it means something. If I am full of it, than what does it mater what I say. Just ignore me. I am sorry that I commented on this post. My instincts were to ignore it but once killer chimed in I figured I might as well help since I had the tricks you asked about. This stuff is not important. Go enjoy your family and Christmas. |

Merry Christmas to you as well.
My disclaimer is a message I have posted in every one of my magic trick auctions. Again, the disclaimer is being HONEST that I'm not an expert on magic and I don't really know a whole lot about what I'm selling. |

Jeez, it's just a Tenyo trick. Let the guy keep it up there. Eventually he'll just keep lowering the price until someone nips at it. Getting nutsy over it is a waste of time, as John knows.
FYI, I had three of these at one time. I am in the process of rebuilding my Tenyo collection, but with a different goal. I don't need sealed packages since I want to play with the items. And I don't need two of anything, except certain fragile items that have a tendency to break. Thus I will keep my two open copies of "Mirage" in case one poops out (as they do) since I love the trick and have fun doing it for people, even though it's really odd to have this big piece of plastic just to pass a thin black card through a bill! |

LOL. Ouch that hurts give it back!
Thanks Richard for having my back and doing it with a great sense of humor. You would have won the joke contest if we had one. I had my joke all ready. What did the Ultra Tube say to the Mirage? Nothing magic tricks don't talk. |

"What did the Ultra Tube say to The Mirage?"
"Mr. Suguwara can fix you." |

What did the Ultra Tube say to the Mirage?
"Stop sticking your tounge out at me, especially since it's black." And the Mirage retorted with "Shut your trap!" |

The first part of my question is to get an idea of the ones you felt were worth keeping and performing over the years. The second is to see of your collecting has reached a compulsive level where you feel you need to collect every single item put out by Tenyo or if you have a few worthy ones in mind. Thank you Pierre |

Hi Pierre, I don't feel a compulsion to collect every single item put out by Tenyo because that is an impossible goal. No one even has every T number in their collection, thus every collection of US issued tricks is incomplete. So trying to collect everything is out of the question, and that doesn't even include all the Japanese Tenyo effects (and Tenyo itself is not certain of exactly what these are!).
There are not many early Tenyo pieces around because of various factors, including the destruction of World War II, and the fact that Japanese homes and apartments are very small and people don't have a lot of room to store things. I am most interested in Tenyo effects that are ingenious, or just clever, and which I find intriguing in some way. Thus, I am not really interested in "Funny Dog" because it's just deteriorating sponge dogs in a box. But I would like to have a Mystic Ruby because I like paddle tricks. Essentially it boils down to wanting to have a collection of the best Tenyo has to offer, and in most cases these are tricks I like to do for folks who happen to visit my home. I even like to have dopey tricks like "Spinning Plate on Rope" because it's just so weird. In the course of collecting, sometimes things just come my way. I was able to pick up "Dying Silks" on eBay for $35 a month or so ago. That seemed like a good idea. Suguwara's "Water Mystery" is another odd duck that I recently acquired for very little. After talking about it with Mr. Suguwara, I bought it and discovered that it's amazing--but do you know anyone who has tried it? I would like to see someone perform "Money Shredder" and make it look convincing! Mr. Suguwara seemed to think it worked fine but I didn't have one with me to ask him to demonstrate it. Perhaps the instructions suck or leave out an important point. Investigating these things is interesting to me: Tenyo marketed the trick, so it should work and would seem to be deceptive Another one I've recently played with for the first time is "Ribbon Forever" which is an AMAZING illusion provided the gimmick doesn't get stuck while sliding. Age isn't kind to thin pieces of plastic since they warp--something which also affects the "Card Changer.: Does that answer your question? |

Hi Richard
Thank you for the insight on some Tenyo tricks I was not familiar with. You have answered my question for the most part. I guess I was also interested in obtaining a better idea of what Tenyo items you value and appreciate to help me identify Tenyo tricks that may be worthwhile for m collection as well. Separate the wheat from the chaff, if you will. Tenyo tricks from the last 20 years can be found relatively easily if you search dealers and ebay. Older effects tend to be harder to come by. However, as you pointed out, old plastic toys do not always age very well and one may be spending a lot of money to obtain something that is really a collectible as opposed to an item to perform with. Since I snapped on Tenyo over the last 2 months I have purchased over 50 Tenyo items and the 2 Tenyo Elite. The rush and cleverness of a new Tenyo is really addictive. I also feel I need to buy them now as I may not be able to find them later. However I a still looking to add a few more worthwhile items to play with and perform, not collectors items for the drawer. |

Look for Magical Door it is one I really like. It is a discontinued item but isn't too old. Very easy to do and gets great reaction cause it would appear to impossible. Although it can be inspected you have to be sure to control what they have in their hands at the same time. Prison Box is also favorite one too but is one that will be harder to find. Just a couple to watch for if you don't already have these.
