I can see the seahawks beating san fran (again), gb(again), atlanta. They are the hottest team right now. But it will be a challenge if they had to play the winner of the east because that team will be hot either way. Washington is hotter than dallas though. Wait a minute! If romo plays seattle in the playoffs, those sweet memories will come back. Last time tony romo lost that game (if you don't know what I mean youtube it, its one of the most saddest/funniest moments in nfl playoffs history) and seattle somehow made it to the superbowl. This seattle team is a much better team from back then without a doubt. Better than that 7-9 team who inexplicably made the playoffs and beat the saints 2 seasons ago.

Yeah, it was a surprise to us to get beaten so soon in the playoffs last year, but at least we can say we were beaten by the team that took home all the bacon. Better than losing to a team that then goes on to lose, huh? It was also a surprise starting off as a six seed wild card the year before and taking home the trophy at the end of it all. I guess you forgot to mention that. Favre played against a different Giants team. Comparisons are moot.

And, of course, they won't be in the post-season again this year. The only team in NFL history to go 0-16. They truly are one of the worst franchises in the history of professional sport. And, of course, they lost TWICE to the Packers this season. As usual. And missed the playoffs. As usual. Someones mad all right. But it's certainly not Packers fans. You guys just keep doing what you do. Those two automatic wins over the Lions every year always come in handy. Keep telling yourself they are a good team, when in fact they suck. Point blank. *Stop and think about that for a while. A supposed prefessional franchise with 1 playoff win in 42 years. They haven't even made the playoffs in back to back seasons in over 15 years. LOL! It would be comical if it weren't so pathetic. |

I'm glad the Seahawks are doing well, since I live in Seattle, but I'm a Vikings fan for life. Great to hear comparisons being made about Tarkenton and Wilson.
I hope at least one of my two teams make it through the playoffs this season. Go Vikings! Beat Packers! |

Yea the broncos are the best team in football and suh is not a dirty player. He he. The packers are owned by the public or something like that so its only natural people in wisconsin would make blunder after blunder. The lions are a bad franchise so you can keep tryin to argue something you cant even argue about. that's lame. Being a historically bad franchise through the past cant take away that this years team is way better than their record. The officials rob us all the time. We didn't have our secondary all season or our recieving corps but we still almost beat the best teams. The packers lost to the seahawks before they were good.

The refs are still not good and the packers shouldnt have let it get that far so where the official would call the game. Thas what Jim Scharwtz says.

Wilson had a learning curve as pretty much all rookies do. Offensive Coordinator Darrell Bevell did an outstanding job of keeping the playbook very basic early in the year, then expanding it to take advantage of Wilson's dual-threat skills as his understanding of the offense solidified. That's one huge reason they've gotten much better as the season's gone on. They never asked Wilson to do too much, and as he's become capable of doing more, they've put more on his plate.

Tarkenton was a drop-back passer who scrambled (spectacularly) a few times during the season and hit the annual highlight reels because of his scrambling; first and foremost, however, he was a drop-back passer, not a runner. Wilson's a runner: he calls plays designed to get him running downfield, something Tarkenton never did. (By his own admission, Tarkenton called a scramble only once in his career. ("You guys try to get open and I'll scramble around until I find one of you.")) They're both gifted athletes, but not of the same mold. (Nevertheless, I'm rooting for Seattle, now that the Vikings are out of it: my daughter lives in Seattle, and the Seahawks have quite a few USC alumni.) |

Did you change your mind after watching the whole game? Wilson made his longest run of the year, and did quite a bit of scrambling.

(Could you imagine Fran chasing down his running back to make a block as Wilson did? I can't.) I'm not taking anything away from Wilson - he's probably a better athlete than Tarkenton was - I'm just saying that their not comparable because he intends to run, whereas Fran never did. OK, Fran did once. (By the way, I won't be surprised if Griffin tore his MCL on that low snap. Recovering now from my third ACL replacement, it turned my stomach to see the replay where his knee clearly colapsed to the inside. I told my wife that she didn't want to watch it; she's already squeemish about knees. I wish him the best.) |
