I'm of two minds about this. I'm happy it over for the circus. I'm sorry that ASPCA was the one to get the huge fine. They're good people and and do a lot of good. Even more so for their supporters. I wish the PETA nutsacks that started this had been slapped down insted

I'm not sure that slapping peta nutsacks is allowed under the Geneva Convention.

Good people, yes (the ASPCA). But they thought it over carefully and decided to lend the weight of their considerable reputation to this spurious suit. What were they thinking?

I have a few "PETA-type" friends. I'm an animal-lover and a vegetarian, but I want to smack 'em. If I mention doing a show with a horse circus (which happens periodically,) their first reaction is, "OMG, no! Are the horses okay?! How badly were they mistreated?!"
Bless them for wanting to save the world, but some people just have their head too far up their arse to do any real good. |

ASPCA crawled in the mud with the pigs and they got mud on them...The Animal Rights Folks are nuttier then the Anti-Gun Crowd...
You come to a point in your life when you really don't care what people think about you, you just care what you think about yourself.

Nobody has ever mentioned what it takes to get an elephants attention. You have to hit them hard enough for a major league home run or they just don't feel anything. If you are walking neer aaround an elephant indores he has yo be made aware of your location. The are gentile intellegent creatures, but if the don't see you they can crush you agenst a wall or a pole and never even know it. That is the most common type of anamal death in zoos and farms.
It looks awaful on film, especially if someone from PITA is doing a voice over, but hay we shave and debread them with blowtourches and they don't even notice. If anyone ever did manage to actually hurt an elephant it would be the last thing he ever did. And if he didsurvive it, he wouldn't survive the red lighting.
