My vote would be for the 60's. Then the 80's then the 70's. It seems like there were so many great bands that were around in the 60's. Back then the entire group went into the studio at one time. After that it was one musician at a time. Sure, the end product was a lot tighter, but I guess I like the old sound better. Kind of closer to a live recording. Of course lots of mistakes were on the records, like with the Kingsman's version of Louie Louie, but that made it kind of cool.

Gotta go with 60's based on the Beatles and Stones alone, followed by the 80's, the club scene was so great then and the music so much fun and diverse.

Pick your favourite decade for music, choose the mid-point (eg 1955, 1965, 1975,...). Subtract your birth year.
Any guesses as to what the distribution would look like?

The music from the 40's to the early 70's is great stuff. It is surprising how many "new" songs today are actually old songs of the past.
The "British Invasion" was the most musicaly exciting time in my Life. Every morning there were new songs and unheard of groups playing on the radio. I would welcome another "invasion". If I could only pick one favorite decade, it would have to be the 60's Iven

Jeff Stone & Ivan hit the nail right on the head the mid 60's to mid 70's was definitely the best time for music, friendly women, and general fun times. The 1980 were absolutely the worst with out a doubt time in recent history.
Of course I was 20 years old in 1965, 30 in 1975, the age of cheap highs, and free love may have had an influence on my decisions. In the 1960's I went to a lot of crazy spontaneous events, and I kissed a lot of pretty girls.
