Hello, All.

Is anyone aware of any Android app that can be put on an Android Smart phone or Android tablet to help learn the Aronson memorized deck? I'm thinking of a program like Joe Williamson's "Memorized Stack Trainer" program that is online at http://huruey.webs.com/ .

Thanks for any info in this regard.

Mike

P.S. See you all next year.

Hi, Rudy.

Thanks for the post. I am familiar with most of these sites and, a brief look at all of them seem to indicate that they have no android app available for an Android Smartphone or Android tablet. While I can go on line and use an online stack trainer, I'd prefer not to because such use runs up the meter on my wireless connection. What I'm hoping to be able to do is download an Android app asnd then be able to use it offline...thereby only depleting battery usage.

Thanks again for the suggestions and for taking the time to post your above response.

My quest continues. (grin)

If you're asking for help memorizing cards, you don't need an app - you need one of my books that teaches you how to remember things easily and quickly.

Thanks for that, Harry.

I have one of your memory books but, as a personal hangup, I could never get comfortable with the peg system for memorizing a deck of cards. In my mind, I was always telling myself that I had to learn 52 new words just to learn 52 existing words (cards). I could never talk myself into doing that..and finally I just went with brute memorization of the original 52 words (cards).

I'm certain that the peg system has a lot of merit...for those who enthusiastically buy into the system and are willing to invest the time. At that time in my life, I wasn't. Maybe its time to once again re-read your memory book and dive into the peg system once more.

BTW, the reason for requesting an Android app trainer is not to learn the memorized deck. I have already done that...many years ago. Rather, I am looking at any such Android app as more of a diversion to play around with when I'm involved in a mind-numbing activity...like standing in line at DMV, while driving my car in traffic (just kidding) or when I'm sitting around waiting for a meeting or other activity to begin. I'm viewing any such Android app more like an "adult" (i.e., an old f*rt) game. Failing to find such an app, I can always fall back on the Android version of "Angry Birds".(grin)

Thanks again for the reminder. Now,...if I could just remember where I stored your memory book....(double grin)

Hi Mike

I am using Flashcards Deluxe on my iphone & it's also available as an Android app. I downloaded a set of images of cards on to my phone and created my own set of 'decks'.

Hi, Tony.

Thanks for the info. I'll contact the app maker to see if the created flashcards can be placed in a discrete order (i.e., 1-52 and/or 52-1 Aronson Stack) and if the cards can be numbered on the back and have the card faces on the face...AND if they can be mixed up some face up and some face down (and then reveal the other side of the card being shown.

Thanks again for the info. It is much appreciated.

Last year I built version 1 of an Android app for learning the Aronson Stack, and a few members here helped test it for me.
I got some good feedback with some great ideas for version 2 which is now near completion and ready for beta testing.

Some of the new features are.

Aronson and Tamariz support
persistent data and settings.
improved UI and design.

One of the biggest challenges is making sure it will run properly on a wide variety of devices,
So I'm looking for another round of bata testing, for maybe 10 - 20 people to try it out (for free) and tell me what they think and how it works on there phone.

if anyone is interested send me a msg with your

Name
Phone details.
Version of android.
Email address
and I will send you a link to download the Beta.

Thanks
Greg
