Critter, are those photos recent? Is this what the dead of winter looks like for you?
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.--Yeats

Yeah and not usually. Winter seems to be ending quickly here this year. Spokane is known for our erratic weather. It sometimes goes from 80 to snowing, to 80, to lightning storm all in the same day. Cold air is heck on my asthma though so I like it around the 50s or 60s best.

I intend to visit Glacier National Park in the near future so that will be an excellent opportunity for some pics

Kind of a bummer because they don't belong there. They are domestics living in the wild.

We have a lot of introduced species around here. Flora and fauna. I still love how close nature is. I live less than five minutes from downtown and can find deer and wild turkey within blocks of my house

Oh yeah, we have a lot of deer and turkey around urban areas as well. Deer have always been around but over the last 15-20 years turkey populations have really exploded. I see them constantly.

Those ducks are not introduced, they are probably ducks that people either bought to raise, or chicks that they bought around easter, then dumped on the river cause they got tired of them. Domestic ducks shouldn't be turned loose anymore than domestic dogs and cats should be turned loose in the woods to fend for themselves. In most cases it's illegal to do so. They also interbreed with wild ducks which isn't good for either of em.

Good thing you are having a mild winter because they don't know how to migrate and even if they did those Long Island ducks (the white ones) can barely fly.

What kind of duck is the duck mid-pack with the white neck and dark body?
