In order to be a hero to young people you must have earned your followers without cheating. There are no exceptions to this rule just ask shoeless Joe Jackson.
Heroes aren't supposed to say "I cheated because everybody else cheated".

You yourself worship Bill clinton...onen of the biggest liars we know of. NOt ony a liar but a cheat on his wife. Lied to the grand jury. Yet you and yurs think he is wonderful. Aren't your values just a little bit skewed? Don't you think the Presient of the United States owes us more than a guy who rides a bike for a living? Get your head out of the sand...I am being nice when I say that.

The title of "Hero" is so deluted that it really means nothing.
To me a Hero is someone who puts their own life on the line to help someone, especialy someone who is NOT related. Today a Hero is someone who can sing or dance better than the average person. Someone who can throw or hit a ball farther than average is a Hero. Not by my standards. Everyone is a Hero these day's by the standards that the majority use to define the word Hero. I do an excellent back palm, better than most of the pro's I see. I guess I am a Hero. Iven

My point of view on Lance Armstrong is that much of the venom being spewed in his direction comes from the fact that he's so famous, and so successful. How much of the general public even knows the name of any other cyclist? The fact that almost everyone in the Tour uses steroids doesn't excuse Armstrong for using them, I'd just like to see the same scrutiny applied to everyone. Singling one cheater out for being the most successful cheater seems disingenuous.
It feels like the powers that be think that if they offer up Armstrong then no one will care about the rest of the cheaters and the sport will be seen as "honest" for "taking care of this bad man."

Armstrong has lost somethings from being caught but on the whole has profited from cheating. Like the banksters who steal billions and pay millions in fines and so make a profit from it. The banksters carry on banking after being caught and paying the fine and why do they not their lose their licences to bank like AArmstrong has lost his licence to bike?
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Acesover
Everybody did it is no excuse for stealing. No one will stand beside him to say that "we all did it" when he gets sued. How could you defend this LIFE LONG cheater?????

I see someone else here has read about the path of destruction Lance Armstrong has brought down onto anyone who attempted to reveal the truth about his life long fraud.

When Lance Armstrong faces a lynch mob, and wins like Bill Clinton did he will get my vote for comeback cheater of the year. LOL

Yea Al it is sort of a good point. Is it that Clinton was a better liar so you don't mind? Obviously the simple act of telling the lies is not what bothers you. Interesting. (Though I suppose we all do it on some level, it is just that in your case it is quite stark LOL.)
As for what a hero is I disagree Ian. My dad was my hero. Guys who have a family, go to work every day, support them, play with the kids, go to horrible band concerts, football games, dance recitles, and on and on. THOSE are the people who make the world go round. Look at the way Al speaks of his family life. Agree or disagree with him on things, he is an absolutely devoted family man. Gotta agree with that in my book. In the end heros exist in all walks of life.
