Hey guys, my name is Chris, I'm a freshmen in college and I'm a magician from new jersey. I used to (and am again starting to ) train in multiple fighting arts, as well as close quarters combat, parkour, and survival (urbam/wilderness). After I tore my meniscus and loss lots of muscle mass in my left leg, later finding out I had no ACL, I picked up a deck of cards and started practicing. I always loved magic, and since my accident 1 year again ago, my life has dramatically changed. I now perform in school, colleges, and do some parties. I started with cards, and moved on to sleight of hand, then gimmicks, into street magic, and now I'm getting more into stage magic. I love performing, and love making people smile, and laugh. Now i;m starting my training again, to get back into fighting, but magic has now become a full time part of my life.

Welcome CGIllusionist,
Well after all that Card Tricks have got to be safer anyway. Now you'll have to figure out how many decks of cards you'd need in your survival kit if society breaks down and no more cards were being printed. Glad you've found a new interest. -Mary Mowder |

Well, them there marshul arts is good training for a Hey Rube, when the townies come lookin' for a jackpot! But,,I prefer a tent stake, myself. Of cors, Ricky Jay has a book on "Cards az Weapons" --he also has 52 ASSISTUNTS! That's a lot more assistants than Harry Blackstone ever had on his 1001 Wonders show. I work a single O myself.
Hey, MARY MOWDER! This here new guy aint got no >>>ACL!<<< Should we let him in, anyway??? Remember! We are a little short on Johnny Come Latelys! I aint no "YES man". If you say "NO", I'll say NO. I myselfl usually just tear up napkins, or cards 'n' stuff. I never tore up no meniskuss yet. Is that something new that that Levent guy is doin ? Ha the flag is up!! I'm goin' to the cook house... Howdy, Chris!
Interesting coincidences: I lived in NJ (Allamuchy) for 18 months in '93 - '94, and I'm recovering from my third ACL replacement: first two torn in Tae Kwon Do, third horseback riding. Welcome to the Café! It sounds like you're on the mend; you and I both. Best of luck. |
