I'm certain that Paul's method is more direct than Greg's, which is very convoluted, if not equivocal. [Edited for MacGyver.]
Like Bonnie Raitt said, "I miss Little Feat more than I miss being 8 years old." Thanks for the concerts + recordings, Lowell, Richie, and Paul!

Hmmm, perhaps it to other mentalist but I've definatly fried many laymen and even a few magicians who thought I was using an index with it.....
The great benifit is that there is a good line of thought behind the routine and patter than disguises the method. Sometimes I do a routine when I drop half my deck, that the spec and I take turns dropping cards to the floor until we are left with one card... their card. Great save for when you slip and drop some cards, and it uses the same 'method' as Scorched. It really fries people! [EDIT: Thanks Steve!!!] |

Are we to assume this is a glorified equivoque item?

If I know anything about Paul Harris' effects I doubt it is just a dressed up equivoque effect.

I was told there is a gimmick. Or more precisely, you're given pieces to make the trick work. I was also told there is a small amount of word play involved. No surprise there.

I've heard of this effect being performed recently at a close up contest and it floored. I am anxiously awaiting a review. If anyone has this effect don't be shy, please post a review.

I might buy this, but I just performed Scroched today for the first time. I'm not sure if it's worth spending the money and having to carry a gimmick around just for a trick that uses some equivoque anyway. Waiting for a review...

Well, the wait is over. The routine is very, very good, as you might have expected.
In addition to some "traditional methodology" ('nuff said), you will receive two extremely clever items which give the spekkie an incredible amount of control over the outcome. The props are things you do not have already and which you couldn't or wouldn't make. And you can repeat it immediately for walkaround...at that table and that table and that one and that one and, yes, that one and that one and that one and that one and that one and that one and that one and that one and that one and that one and that one and even that one... all with different selections, all controlled by the spectator. This is way beyond the scope of the related versions of this genre, Redstreak. My opinion? You'll like it and it's worth the price. I look forward to hearing more reviews from those who have been in magic for a few years. Steve H

Just received this.
Quite a neat idea developed from the Kollosal Killer principle. Excellently produced gimmicks & detailed instructions including tips/alternative patter/handling. I will definitely put some work into this in my Christmas bookings to see how strong it plays. There is some 'word play' involved but this is subtle and covered in the 'script'. Overall routine is superb - but don't expect an effect on the scale of Deep Astonishment. A great alternative to the ID that takes up less space and still very commercial with instant reset. Darren |

I just placed my order with Hocus Pocus -- anyone know if you can use multiple cards or do you have to force a certain card for the spectator to choose

Ok, I know you can do it at "that table" and "that one" but what about "THE other table" or "THOSE tables over there in the corner"?

I hate when a Harris trick is hyped... You don't know if you should get it or not... When someone gets it, tell me if you can do different things with the gimmick. I think the 'stock' routine sounds weak compared to some mentalism angles.
