This is something I have been kicking around for quite sometime, in my humble opinion a completely original idea to myself. The large nail can be examined before and after bend! No memory wire, magnets, etc.
Remote operated - can be used 100 ft. away - spoooky!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjV9hDXO5iw Chuck Caputo |

Very cool. How closely examined can the little 'alter' be? Are there any reports heard during the bending? Let us know if you are planning on releasing this in your collection.

Hello, The altar can be shown front and back, all of the electronics are concealed in base. Playing music is recommended during the operation of this effect to cover any noise - the giant nail can be thrown out for examination before and after the 'bend'.

While I think it's a good idea, the problem I have with the presentation is that you spend six seconds with full attention on the back of your hand which is hiding the nail. I think most people would find that...suspicious.

I only used this effect twice since I built it, with a little practice the time as well as naturalness can be greatly improved. The visual bend without any cover is pretty startling.

Not every prop we use is meant to be examinable, nor need it be.
Chuck, your interpretation of the bending nail is very visual indeed. I applaude not only your creativity, but admire your ability to actually craft the equipment as well. so few in our number could. Thank you for sharing your vision. Kotah |

If it is possible do the sw*tc* away from the altar will be great....use sleight of hand or sleeving in the moment taking back the nail....but I m not sure if it is possible.
Thanks, CC |

Or you take this lovely piece: http://www.magic-factory-essen.de/sparte......olt.html
No electronics (pure mechanic), instant reset, under your control all of time. You can decide the degree of the bend and how fast or slow it shall go |

No heating up or cooling down, it will stand a lifetime, no electronics which do not work from time to time, etc. In my opinion it is worth the money. All the mechanic are build inside the tray and the tray itself is motivated caused by the routine which is delivered with the prob. And of course no sleight of hand needed at all As far as I know it is planned to come up with a version for the international market but that's just a rumor so far. As I know the creator I can ask him for an update. |

The bolt can be handed out for examination (before and after) if so desired but what's more impressive is the way you control the speed of the bending. According to the performance setting, this can be extremely effective and is something many other versions lack. The only downside is that the effect (like most of its mechanical sibblings) seems to be precisely handcrafted, thus the high price tag...

Talked to the creator yesterday, and he is willing to build some of them for the international market. As they are all handcrafted and very time consuming to create, it would be a limited edition. This seems to be a problem as he told me. The distributors (he does not want to sell them on his own), are not that happy about limited editions. So he is on his way to find a distributor who is willing to sell limited editions.

I didn't know that this one was always on the market,
I own a slightly different version(from the same creator) and the illusion is really great. Nicolino gave a good sum up of the strong points and specially that you control the bending all the time, it's highly visual. I normally don't post those kind of comments as I don't have too much posts but I just like this effect. |
