Hi,
¿Have you seen the TV Show? ¿What are your thoughts? I haven't seen it, but was searching google for demon traps and many of the results were in reference to the show. So I was wondering if the show was OK.

This show?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supernatura......eries%29 You might be able to watch some full episodes for free (a proxy server may be needed) here: http://www.cwtv.com/cw-video/supernatural/ I've seen it, and it's not _terrible_. For me though, it lacks something, but I didn't watch enough to say what. I thinks it's similar to CBS's The Mentalist in that respect. Perhaps those more familiar with the show can add their oppinions too. cheers, Lin |

It's okay, took me around 2 seasons to really get into it and it does get better as the seasons go on. Personally I would recommend True Blood, Walking Dead or American Horror Story as superior shows in a similar vein.

Hi Paul, I love american horror story! But I think one of the reasons I do it's because there are no zombies or vampires, but maybe I'll give them a try

I really like Supernatural. It's one of the only programmes I actually watch. But then... I think I kind of get more out of it than you guys do... Hello, Misha Collins...

Jessica, is it sort of demon catching orientated?

It is a great show if you're into bizarre.
I watched the first 7 seasons on netflix in about 5 weeks. I lost so much sleep. You really kind of need to force yourself to watch the pilot episode. The effects and budget in general seems to be pretty low for the first 5 or 6 episodes. Then it gets great and continues to get better. |

It started out as a show about two brothers who hunt demons. They've branched out considerably since, with story arcs about ghosts, vampires, angels... (It's actually way cooler than it sounds.) The current story arc is about leviathans. The tone of the show is kind of an X Files-meets-Buffy kind of thing.
I'll admit, most of the first season was pretty unwatchable. (Seriously, season 1 episode 13 is about Sam and Dean battling a racist ghost truck. Racist. Ghost. Truck. I'll let that sink in for a moment.) And I could talk for ages about gender roles on this show. (Spoilers: If you're a woman, you die. End of story.) But it has good music, nice cars, a surprising amount of gore, and a couple of painfully attractive male leads. Something for everyone. |

It always made me laugh how the Hunters are all dumb-ass rednecks! Boy, those demons must have been stupid to get caught by those good old boys!

At last it is fun to watch.
Have seen 5 seasons so far. First season focuses on urban legends. Than it gets different story arcs each season. I enjoyed watching it. |

I enjoy the show, it has similar feel to X-Files. It is filmed in Vancouver Canada area the same as X-Files was.

It's cute. My only issue with it is that when it has its fan conventions in my hometown, they call it Supernatural Chicago -- which has been the name of my weekly theatre performance since before the TV show premiered.
But I guess I can't complain too much; its fans occasionally discover my show that way precisely because of our name (and Google ranking). Best, Neil

Neil, only in our line of work would we be able to get away with calling a show like this "cute."
If you're going to start watching, I'd almost suggest starting at season 5. Before that, everyone's too whiny, and after that, it starts to get a little meta. (But by that point, you'll be hooked, so you won't care.) |

I finally started watching the show (well we (wy wife and me) are on season 3)
I must say I found it quite fun and addictive, the first chapters are sort off "just ok", but the thing really gets much better. I also love the references to some "real" things like Solomon or Robert Johnson's deal with the devil

Just wait, Joaquin! It gets so much better! You're lucky... You can watch season 5 without having to wait for season 6.
And the show's been renewed for a ninth season. Yeah, that just happened. |
