Germany's central bank is withdrawing 700 tonnes of its' gold reserves from New York and Paris. It still has plenty left on deposit in New York and London, for now. The German audit office has criticised the government for not keeping a proper track of the bars. It has even been suggested some of the bars may not have been checked to see if they are real. Its all bit interesting. I guess. I wonder how they move it and I am wondering how we can steal it. Have any you fellows got any tanks?

As opposed to 700 tons.

The tonne (SI symbol: t) is a metric system unit of mass equal to 1,000 kilograms (2,204.6 pounds). It is a non-SI unit accepted for use with SI. To avoid confusion with short ton, it is also known as metric ton in the United States. About £34662 per kilograms on the black market. hmmmm

Tommy, I have arranged for Fraulein Helga to distract Colonel Clink and General Burkhalter long enough for Colonel Hogan and Corporal LeBeau to snatch the gold.

Mmmm ... "not keeping proper check on the bars?" ... now we wouldn't want anyone to take anything that wasn't theirs would we.

Neither tons or tonnes is correct when discussing the weight of gold or silver. It would be measured by the Troy scale.

I wonder if we will just give Germany fakes like we did to China.

I say let's keep the gold. What are the German's going to do?
We go to war over oil and we go to war to get revenge. Why not go to war over gold? We already have military bases in Germany and since we are the "World Police" we can do what we want (we do it anyway). War is FUN. War is Peace. War is good for the economy. War creates jobs. WAR IS GOOD! Iven
