Magic Inc. has the American distribution rights to Ali Bongo material.

If you are looking for Balloon Burst, Magic Inc. sells it for $24.95:

It is surprising what the Google Search Engine will let you discover, isn't it.

I looked in my Ali Bongo Lecture Notes, it is published in "BONGO STRIKES AGAIN" lecture note booklet. Published between 1978 to 1980, as I cannot remember the magic convention I attended where he gave this lecture. There is only 5 simple drawings for the trick. No description at all in text form, just labels Magician, Spectator, Balloon Holder. They will be of little use if you did not attend the lecture. I actually do not remember it from the lecture. I was more impressed with his "Revolving Thing", "Peneggtration", and his balloon valve which was invented by an American Magician.

It is not in the 1966 booklet titled "THE BONGO BOOK" published by Magic Inc.

A magician does a funny version of the Ali Bongo balloon burst on a you tube video. he has asked that his routine not be ripped off, but you could certainly write your own routine for the trick. It's not all that spectacular, but the you tube routine is quite engaging. Without the proper routines, it is just a sad little trick.

I've heard of Dick Chavel - and I also remember the shop in Tottenham Court Road, plus (unless my memory is playing tricks) another one round the corner in Oxford Street under the same ownership. Didn't one or both belong to Corinda?

Thanks, Philippe

I think I may have met Corinda on one of my visits as a child! I still have one of the original 13 steps bought there. (I really wanted the full book, but it cost a small fortune at the time - £5!)

I was with Corinda when he wrote the steps. Pat Page was around a lot
then so we became good friends. I ended up running casinos and hired
Pat several times to entertain my clients, this was on an island outside
of the UK. Forgive me, I am meandering, good memories.

I used to work in Hamleys for Ali Bongo when Corinda had the concession. And of course I knew Corinda too. I also knew Dick Chavel. He was a horrible man. Deeply unpleasant.

Do any of you know if new publications of Ali Bongo´s ideas have been made?
I would be very interested in obtaining copies of any material available. Perhaps re-printing of his books or making them available in digital format would be very useful. Most of his books are aout of print and unavailable in the second-hand market.

Hoping a book on Ali Bongo’s magic might have sprung up during these dark times... any good news ?

Steve Short is working on a book. He asked for stories about Ali in May this year, so I imagine it's well in hand.
