70 today. I saw her at the Electric Factory, and the Atlantic city rock festival of 1968 or 1969 who can remember.

LOL.......I hear all those years are just a blur. While she was way before my time, I have always loved her voice.

Thanks. I had forgot her for a while, she was cool.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Sweet JJ. She would probably have made a great 70 year old, I sure wish she'd stuck around. I heard her at the first Monterey Pop festival.

I heard her at the Avalon, Fillmore and (for free) many times in the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park. With Big Brother and the Holding Company.

Nice photo. Grace Slick was very cool as well (White Rabbit).
I never understood why Janis Joplin was despised and hated so much by her fellow classmates in High School and at her class reunion she was still being looked down upon. Go Figure. Iven

I was once acquainted with a man who went out with her in high school. I don't think she was despised and hated by everyone.

Janus Joplin was the first concert I ever went to. I was in 8th or 9th grade at the time and it was the 3rd Quaker City Rock festival: B.B. King, Joe Cocker, Santana, and Janis Joplin. She was touring with her new band. I still remember it today.

Janis Joplin had very little positive remarks about her school years and even less about her one and only attendence at a class reunion. Maybe she exagerated or lied. I only know what I heard her say on the subject. Iven

Sorry for the misspelling. I typed it too fast.
Also thanks for the reminder of why I never post here any more. |
