Richard Kaufman, I appreciate how you come to this thread and make an attempt to diffuse what can only be a messy situation. That is very mature of you.
John Talbot, I don't appreciate your thinnly veiled attempt at discrediting me and once again jumping in the middle of somebody else's business. Things really never change around here. Been there seen that. |

What is your favourite way of opening a Tenyo package? I tear into them like a kid on xmas morning. Then.. I carefully insert the packaging into the 'circular file' under T-for Trash.. |

There was a buyer that had committed to buying many items from a dealer. Then Edshern put out his sell list and three of the items were on the sell list. Ed's stuff was opened and he said he would sell it at good prices where the dealer's stuff was all mint and the price reflected it. What the dealer did was send Ed's list to the buyer and told him to see if he can get the tricks cheaper from Ed especially since the buyer preferred opened tricks. Who does that? Then at the same time another Tenyo buyer had inquired from the dealer information about a hard to get trick. Then yet another buyer came to ask for tricks and the dealer sent his list with the hard to get trick. The new buyer wanted it and many other tricks. The dealer checked with the first that inquired and the fellow said you should sell it to him, I can't raise the money for a few weeks. The dealer said I will hold the item and sell it to you. You have 30 days to pay. Who does that? The buyer just came back to the dealer and said he no longer wanted it because he found it cheaper. The buyer that I mentioned was send to Ed by the dealer came back when Ed changed his mind. The dealer had a chance to buy a medium sized lot but none of the items in the lot he needed. The new buyer needed many of the items so the dealer tried to make the deal. When he went to the old magician to make the deal they were very far apart in price. The magician was close to retail and the dealer had no room for profit. The magician needed to make this happen because it was part to a bigger deal that had items he wanted. What the dealer then did was unheard of. He offered to have the buyer contact the magician directly which would expose one of his best sources. But the magician did not want to do that because dealing with the dealer was easy and he was only comfortable dealing with him. The dealer and the magician each gave up a little and the lot is on the way and it will soon be in the hands of the buyer. Who does that? Then there was a forth buyer who asked for the list. And he bought some items. Three packages went out last week to members here on the Café and all got great stuff with free shipping, two international and one US. Who does free shipping? Then another person inquired about a "Vault Vision." This same dealer sold him the item at very good price. He did not put it on ebay to get more money out of it. The person wanted the item, he got it to sell so he sold it. Simple no ring around the rosey. All the people I referred to above are here and posting daily. The dealer was me. I appreciate their business and they appreciate me. The point I made above is the motivation to exposing bad dealers. I try too hard to be a good one and bad ones really irk me. My experience here on the Café was high prices, overestimated shipping and the real insult was the request that I pay the paypal fees. All these sellers were from Europe or UK and they had a clear currency advantage over me but they still were not done. They insisted on getting every last cent from me. And then there are the Café sellers that ask "How much are you willing to pay." And I love when the Café sellers say "This is my last one, I will only sell it for the right price." I am thinking, darn, how many of these did the guy have. I just want one. And then there are the Café sellers who only come around to ask for instruction, or to sell and item or pounce on someone selling something. And then there was the Café seller who had eight, yes eight of an item but would not sell one to me. And then there are the sellers who way overestimate the value of what they are selling. And then there is the seller who will not sell an item direct but rather sell it on ebay because making a handsome profit is not enough a "killing" must be made. I have a list of 7 people here on the Café and 3 Ebay sellers that have not been straight forward in their dealings with me. To me that is a lot. So John Talbot there are some positive and negative Café dealings I have had. |

For the record, I was that guy John M. was talking about.
He was holding an item for me that I happened to pick up for dirt money, not something I would normally do, mind you. Once I make a deal, I stick to it. I felt bad about it but price was less than half and I apologize again John and thank you. All in all, John has been very accomodating to me. The items I have bought from him have been exactly as he described. He has professionally packed and shipped to me free of charge. He is not much of a haggler though...heh. |

Marlowe, you forgot that besides free shipping, I also included a free set of Kim Cards for the Mobile Illusion and the Flag Backgrounds for 4D Surprise.

Hi All,
I see a lot of replies to my original question, and at some point the dicussion went elswhere. John has been very welcome and fair to me as a new member. The items I bought from him were very good condition and very fairly priced. Thanks John! Concerning the opening of the items: My main worry was not to resell but to keep a beautiful package. If I open my cabinet and every box is ripped open it looks terrible. That's why I'm searching for a beautiful way of opening the boxes. It seems that only a knife can bring a solution to this problem. Thanks all! |

I also want to add this since it has been brought up.
I asked if anyone knew of or had a Vault Vision that actually said Vault Vision on the top. I had never seen one and wondered if it even existed. John sent me a PM telling me he had just bought a lot of Tenyo stuff and just happened to have a Milton Bradly Magic Works Vault Vision in that lot and it does say Vault Vision on it. It hasn't even arrived to his place yet and said if I was interested he would be happy to sell it to me at the most unbelievable low price there is no way he is making anything off of it. And said that free shipping is included in that price! He could have easily sold it for 3 times that I am sure maybe more on the auction site. But knew I wanted one and as an amazing coincidence had just what I was looking for on it's way to him. It even has the box in good condition which I expected there is no way this could still be in it's box too! There is not many people that would do what he did especially since he has not even had a chance to play with it and maybe think this is cool I better hang on to it since it is different from the rest. He already was nice enough to send me as a Christmas gift Bird Watcher Too and included the Flags for 4D Surprise and the great looking Dragon Sticker for Carbone's Squeeze Thru. So I have to say he is top line in my book. Thanks John

I have bought a significant part of my Tenyo collection from John M. He makes every effort to answer my questions and provide photographs of the items I am buying. He is a great guy to deal with. His customer service is A+.

I have make lot of trade and deal with John M, the latter being there less than a month, we exchanged many gifts too, he offer me lot of his creations and many other stuff, I offered him some Tenyo special like Fortune Telling Card or Poker chips in moonless night I have made, four chance game etc and I was always very pleased with the transaction.
Things have changed the day I wrote my mixed review of Bird Watcher Too ( Even if the trick is kindly offered I think we should be honest when writing a review of respect to the reader), after that I have not really heard from him as was the case before but his customer service is A+. You can deal with confidence, At this level all is perfect. |

Thank you everyone for the outright show of support. It makes me feel good.
Stereo I am not mad about the Bird Watcher Too review at all. I wrote what is below then, and I still feel the same way. I undertand that it is not to your liking and you being honest about that makes the other reviews of the items you liked of mine that much more legitimate. Quote:
