Hi Wayne:

Picture postcard doesn't mean a preprinted post card from the post office. It is a postcard that you get made up with your promotional photo on one side and the information on the other side. It is this promotional action shot of you that gets the attention and gets the card read.

Martin brings up a good point. You really need your postcard (like all materials) to be of high quality and to represent you in the best way it can.

Keep in mind that often times your suspects get the first impression of you via the materials you send out. Make it stand out in their mind's eye that you represent a quality, enjoyable experience.

Wayne -

This thread: Where do you get your business cards?, will give you some websites for printers online. Many listed on that thread, not only do full-colour business cards, but also full-colour postcards as well. When you look at their websites, you can get an idea of the costs, which can vary.

There is also some good advice on that thread about getting proofs before proceeding with the printing.

As for promotional photos (what to put on the postcards), there are lots of other threads on that subject as well.

Also, make sure to get samples mailed to you. Samples are the only way to really assess the quality of the work, color and types of card stock they print on. Most printers will send you these if you request at no cost to you.

Also, try and get a REAL proof sent to you of your card and not just an online proof. Online proofs are not accurate as every monitor and printer handles color differently. A real proof you can hold in your hands is the best way. You may have to pay a little bit more, but it is well worth it.

If anyone wants more information regarding what to ask or look for in card designs or printing, please just PM me or e-mail me at:

I would be happy to help anyone out.
