Hi!
I REALLY don't want to say I have a ball and a tube... what can they be to the spectators? and more specifically, to be used in a trance context... thanks! |

Check out Docc Hilford - The Vault
He has a routine that uses trance hypnotism with the Ball Tube. |

Early psychics used metal balls before crystal. These small, yet powerful orbs emitted strong psychic rays and so were held aloft on tubes. Let me show you the strange phenomena these mystical spheres could induce....

He does indeed tell his audience exactly what they are and how to present them. He is quite specific about it in the booklet, the doccinar, and The Vault DVD.

Hello
Here is a ball. look at it. Now look at this tube.... try to push the ball in the tube... What. you want me to explain what purpose it serves? I'm a magician and at times I may introduce various items I n the show. If you stop me to examine everything or make me justify every single bit and piece then we won't have any magic. When I ask you to take some change out of your pocket and I see a key fob, do I say '"What do you have that for? What purpose does it serve?" Then the performance turns into a question and answer session. Did Houdini feel the need to have people examine the Elephant at the Hippodrome? Did S&R invite people on the stage to see if the tigers were holograms? Has DC ever explained that there will be a shimmering curtain behind him for this next routine because the material matches the color of his eyes? It would be one thing if you pulled a knife or gun-out. THAT requires explaining. A ball and tube is....... a ball....... and a tube. They don't need no stinking badges or explanation BECAUSE you are going to leave them with the burning question - How Did That Amazing Magician Make That Happen? Trance Performance: Play some techno and give them some googly eyes.

Like I said Docc Hilford's The Vault explains everything.
In fact what he teaches is how to put the spec into a trance w/BT. Watch the vid if you have it. |

If you are worried about justifying the props and don't have an answer, maybe it isn't ready to be performed. Just saying !
