Well, unbelievably, it looks like I'm on track!!
My plan was to have it written for August.01 and then edit, fine-tune, print, etc for shipping Oct.01. So here's my question for you guys... Would anyone be interested in purchasing a Limited Edition "Draft" copy in advance for $55, instead of the regular $75 (which is what it will sell for)? Here's my reasons: GOOD 1) I would sell 200 "Draft" copies. 100 to Caf members and 100 at MAGIC Live. 2) It would enable me to get a bunch of advance copies out there to see if it's actually any good. 3) If it is good, it would potentially provide me with testimonials that I could include on the back cover. BAD 1) It wouldn't be "edited" so there would probably be spelling and grammar issues. 2) I would lose $20 on a potential 200 sales. MORE GOOD 1) I trust my pals (who would most likely be the ones purchasing) and they could give me feedback about things they'd like to see different. 2) It would be cool to have signed "draft" copies out there. Almost like a movie script before the movie gets made. 3) It would help raise funds for the printing of the full run without having to do a Kickstarter. Hmmmm. What do you guys think? $55 for a signed advance copy complete with spelling and grammar issues for no extra charge, lol? You'd save $20 and get it before anyone else. Note: I think I would still print and bind it the same way, so it would look like the finished product, just not fully edited. Brainstorming.. Your pal, jamie

Sweeeet! Thanks for replying, guys! That's 2!
Can I ask what the draw is? The money savings, the "Limited Edition"ish of it, or just helping me out, lol?

The draw is both the savings and the fact it is a limited draft version. Sign me up, Jamie!

Everyhing sounds GREAT! I think as magicians we all know/have enough tricks, this looks like an awesome resource to put those effects to use. That being said, most of it seems geared to the close-up worker. What can those of use who perform for mostly family & kid audiences gleen from this material. Doing mostly platform and stage material, (ie: churches, birthday parties etc.) how will your book address those specific venues. Thanks for being part of the solution. Mark

I would be in as well. I love the idea of an advance, limited edition copy for all the ideas outlined above - and also because you're obviously a genuinely nice guy, who gives not only to the magic community but to the community at large. Let me know where to send the money (and I NEVER do pre-releases) -

I would buy an advance copy for sure - I've seen many "how to" guides on sale on the subject of being a worker, and would buy this in a heartbeat without thinking it's a gamble at all. I'm looking forward to devouring every word and being pushed to think about what I do in every detail rather then get complacent at all. Money well spent if it makes a difference to the end result.
