Hello everybody!
I'm so excited to be here! I got lucky when my parents bought me Mark Wilson's Complete Course of Magic when I was in middle school. A wonderful physics high school teacher and classmate who taught me some basics early on. I learned from an early age that magicians take care of each other when, during a school field trip to Boston, I talked to others at a magic shop in Quincy Market. The kind shop owner and a shopper encouraged me to practice and practice (the shopper was casually shuffling cards while giving me friendly advice, and then he showed me the cards were arranged in new deck order. I know now that he was doing perfect shuffles and false cuts, but he used that moment to impress upon me the importance of practice... thank you!) I'm still a student <laughs>... now in medical school. I am so grateful to have met an amazing professor who taught me the importance of story telling. He gave me a chance to meet Robert Charles, Eugene Berger, Max Maven, Ross Johnson, and Jeff McBride... and hear them talk about shaman and ritual history, the magician's relationship with the audience, and elevating magic performance to an art. I'm still just a hobbyist, but I so very much want to continue to improve and hope to one day tell my own stories as beautifully as the wonderful magicians I've been fortunate to meet throughout my life! Cheers, "Pseph" |

Welcome to the Café. I wish I was lucky enough to live close to the Jay Marshall clan and Magic Inc. Chicago is a toddlin' magic town, as old blue eyes might say.
Et tu, Spartacus?
