Do you know where I can get a full pack of jokers only? I'm wanting to construct an Aldo Columbini effect, and I used to turn to Hank Lee for my gaffed deck needs, but his shop is defunct, now I'm kind of lost..
I used to save all jokers from decks, and had a pile of them, but my wife got most of my magic stuff after we separated. Now I'm back to square one, starting from scratch again.

Sorry can't help there but other than buy a ton of decks and create your own. I have done that because I use tons of cards and I am isolated here and the magic shop stocks very little. while you are at it you could create some other great stuff with the rest of the decks. I think you can never have enough cards

I think I am probably the king of card decks! Over the years I have purchased hundreds, and I am notorious for killing a deck by pulling out one or two cards for a special creative purpose. Then I am left with a partial deck, which bugs the crap out of me, so I separate the cards and set them aside in a separate box and rip open a new deck so I can have a full 52 card pack for performance purposes. So I end up keeping the full decks in one stack and the partial decks in another so as not to get them mixed up.
But after my separation from my wife, she ended up with most of my magic stuff, and all the jokers I had separated are with her, So the jokes on her, but really, it's on me. I had honestly considered buying a bunch of packs, but that is 52 packs! And at over 3 bucks a pack for Bikes at K-mart, that is going to be one hell of an expensive trick! Unfortunately, after we separated, she left me with very little money, so I'm wanting to go the cheap route and just buy a single pack of all jokers.

Yes, you can buy a one-way forcing deck from YFD with jokers. A word of caution: when I ordered from Penguin, the jokers were not the standard black and white variety, but instead were colored. If this isn't a problem, you can get a whole deck of them for approximately $7.

I got a deck about two years ago from here
http://www.themagicdepot.com/product_inf......_id=1957 It was the only place I could find it. Not sure if they only have the colored ones now but you could probably ask first.

I noticed that recently when I purchase a new deck of Bikes from any public store (like K-mart) or Wallgreens, the pack contains one colored joker. (The large joker)
So, I'm guessing that U.S.playing card company has made this as a permanent change? If so, shame on them. Who nreds technicolor jokers? The old black and white joker has been with us for ages and I had a kaboodle of them saved up that my spouse got with our separation. Anyway, while I'm on the subject, I'm also going to need double blanks and blank backs. And also jumbo decks. (I'm wanting to make up several Aldo Columbini effects.) Do these dealers stock these? I'm sort of lost these days since Hank Lee's went defunct. Very lost, in fact.

Penguin has forcing decks of Guarantee Jokers in stock, but not of "regular" Jokers. Perhaps drop them an email and see if they'll be back in stock soon.
http://www.penguinmagic.com/search.php?q=forcing+deck+joker They should also have the double blanks, blank back, and jumbos that you need.

Aldo Colombini has an effect with a deck of Jokers. It's called Joker Dilemma.

Isn't this Doc Eason's Impossible Opener? Have done this with a table and in-the-hand for walkaround.

I'm not sure. I'm not familar with Doc's effect. But I think if Aldo had gotten the effect from Doc, he probably would have credited him on the DVD,

DaffyDoug, at first when I read this post I was like feeling so bad for you, not over the part where you couldn't find the cards, as I knew someone here would come through for you, but the story of your wife getting your magic stuff...i feel for you there and I'm sorry to hear about that.
So I see many helped out here so theres not much more I can add to this other than if your looking for the Blank faces, Dean Dill has an effect that's right up your ally. The price is more than a regular deck but it does come with a little something you might be interested in having for such effects where the deck changes. Just a thought if it helps heres a link.... http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/382 http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......854c42f7

I thank-you all for your kindness! I found someone on the Café who had the effect for sale and I sent him the
money and hopefullly it will arrive in my mailbox soon. Ya' know, as for my wife, the situation was long and compiicated and dangerous. I had to literally run for my life, and the only magic I could take is what I could cram into my pockets at the last minute. I don't want to bore you with all fhe gory details. Suffice it to say that I am starting over from scratch again, and that is just the way it is and I am going to have go bite the bullet, as they say. (And I'm not talking about the bullet catch!)

GET ONE OF THESE! great quality:
Here are four options of one way forcing decks full of jokers. Penguin Magic: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S6684 (Red joker only) http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S6629 (Blue joker only) http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S6629 (Blue guarantee joker only) http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S6682 (Red guarantee joker only) For some strange reason, the reds are much cheaper than the blues. Not saying the blues are expensive, though. Good luck with the effect!! |

Then, I have them sign the useless card, and I perform the routine. I let them keep the signed card as a souvenir. Slowly, I find a use for every card. I find that nowadays cards are really expensive. The BEST place to buy cards is at SAM'S CLUB. They have a value pack of 6 red Bicycle decks and 6 blue Bicycle decks for $14.00. The price per card pack is about $1.17. This is a great value! God bless :bluebikes: |
