Hey! He's 17!
Not bad for a kid!
It was surely the first time of his life he was on stage!
Of course, it's basic and without soul or even magic feeling but at last nobody understood how he did it!

Btw, his confabultaion routine was far worser Smile
I like his style, I'm sure in about one decade or less he'll be a good magician.

I agree with Parmenion on most everything he said.

This week none of the judges disclosed that it was obvious they were not logged into twitter when Tweeting.

The tweets all went to the nbcagt twitter account, I'm presuming by someone monitoring and retyping them into the account, but curious how you know they weren't logged in?

I went to Howie Mandel's Twitter account on my smartphone while watching the Eastern timezone feed.

This is how forums generally work. Members discuss what is of interest to them.

No, generally topics are divided into threads, but thank you for weighing in.

That may be the intent, agreed. But the Magic Café does a good job of not being too rigid. If bulletin boards/forums try to jam too much rigidity at users, they usually end up driving users to rival sites.

The one problem with using this method for Pegasus Page is if the spectator stops you on a page that has much more or much less text than the page that will reappear. Something will seem off to them.

How will something seem off when all they see is the corner of the page that reappears. If you are doing the handling as in the DVD they never see anything but the corner of the page you are showing them.

Not true. When you give them a peek at the page they stopped at, you are cracking open the book at the top corner, but it splits the entire length of the book open, exposing far more than just the top section of the page.

Not true, I have been doing this since it was released and am more than capable of pulling the corner back and showing no more than a few millimetres below the gimmick. If you get them to initial the page you may need to open it a bit further but then all their focus is on the area they are writing and their own arm blocks their view of the page. I have lost count of the number of times I have performed this and never had a problem of showing more of the page than I need to.

If you are having difficulty keeping the bottom half of the page closed you can hook ithe front cover with your little finger as your forefinger pulls back the corner and your middle finger covers the bottom edge of the gimmick. I'll see if I can put a video on YouTube if that's not clear.

Yeah I understand what you mean, that helps. I watched the dvd a long time ago and don't know exactly where it is amongst my sea of magic o_O I used this today in a show and it killed. It will be staying in my shows! This is why I brought this up; because I was practicing and it happened that I inserted the card at a blank page.

Now that I think of it though, isn't one of the most deceptive aspect of the method that the gimmick integrates itself into the page? You seem to see the entire page. If you just flash the top corner, it's a little easier to backtrack, no?

Not at all I don't think a layman would even begin to imagine such a gimmick, also it's all about attitude, you only want them to recall the first word and so that's where all their focus is. They are only given a peek while your head is turned away to rule out any possibility of you seeing anything. With the Pegasus page version they see the word, note the page number and/or initial it. You immediately and cleanly hand them the book. How much of the page they saw is never a consideration, they saw the bit they were interested in and had no expectation that anything funny was going to happen to the page. Their focus is on the word and the page number, nowhere else and all they remember was the page was definitely there, not how much of it they saw.

A simple analogy, imagine on your way home you saw an awesome and rare car parked in the street, let's say a McLaren F1. If you are into cars you are going to have a look. Now when you get home and tell someone about the F1 you saw, imagine if they asked you what cars were parked either side of it. What do you think your answer is likely to be? Mine would probably start with either ... How the heck would I .... Or ... Who gives a flying ...... Smile

I've been testing the Pegasus Page idea for some weeks and it works beautifully.

I am actually handing the book to the spectator after they see the selection + I give them an envelope with the "prediction" from the outset. In my explanation the page and word they saw never existed - since it was never there and they have been holding it.

That takes away the Mr magic aspect from the AGT performance - which didn't suit me personally.

I can't remember if this was on the dvd or not, but it'd be cool if you take a book and have them select a page with the Booked method. They call out the page number out loud, let's say 80. You then direct their attention to an envelope that has been in full view the entire time. You tell them that inside is a lucky guess. You inform them that you had bought a second copy of the book, tore out one page from that book and sealed it inside of the envelope. You tell them you can't remember what page number it was, but hopefully it was also page 80. Have them open the envelope and find that the page you tore out is in fact a correct prediction to the page they stopped on, page 80. Pause for applause. Then say "Or maybe I'm lying and something even more impossible has happened. Please turn to page "whatever page they stopped on". They do and find it's been torn out. It is shows that the page that was in the envelope is actually the one and only actual page that they stopped at in the book.

Let me know what you think.

I do booked every weekend. I really like how easy it is to amaze.
I do the standard show an envelope empty then have the spectator look at the page.
I make the prediction, they discover the page is missing and the page is in the "empty" envelope.

I love it!

I like this effect, but find myself keeping it on the shelf. My main gripe with it is that in the preferred/easiest/most natural handling, the page number must be on the top left corner of the page, without an author's name or book title up there, too.

This, to me, makes the borrowed book method too risky- which is a shame.
Use your own book or a bit of magician's choice and you're okay, but every time I pick up a book, it has the page number on the bottom in the middle or some other terrible position.

I also don't like the "color" issue, and it think it takes a bit of practice to handle this smoothly without flashing the seam (I'm cryptic intentionally). But if you invest the time, it's killer.
