No ... . But thesedays you never know of course.
It has been said before, there are a couple of collectors that have a LOT of money they can spend on Tenyo. If you take your time and search auction sites like Ebay you can find out what their 'names' (like *oo6hu*) are and realize it is NOT the smartest thing to do to compete with them. Trust me, every, and I mean EVERY Tenyo trick will eventually be available for you at a later time. On Ebay, but also from private collectors or via this or other websites with 'buy-sell'-fora. Of course, the number or Tenyo collectors is growing, so you'll have to make a decision eventually. Set a maximum that you are willing to pay and keep that in mind. Anyway, I believe an opened Telesphere would be worth about 75 - 150 USD MAXIMUM. A mint one (not bulk packaging) is in the 200 - 250 USD range. |

There's no absolute 'worthiness'. Therefore, I think you could rephrase Killertweety's statement to "an opened Telesphere can be found for no more than $... if you are patient enough."

Telesphere is a good trick, but one that has noise issues. You should be aware of that. Because of the way it works, the sound of putting the balls in isn't consistent.

As Richard sais ... let's be honest .... Telesphere is a great trick and it works, but when you perform it you'll have issues One for the collector for sure, but not for the professional close-up magician (as with many great Tenyo tricks, unfortunately).

I found a sealed Telesphere from when I was a kid recently (can't find my opened one, did my brother "borrow" it?). As a kid, I usually bought doubles of the Tenyo I really liked for two reasons. One, my brothers usually borrowed my things and they sometimes "disappeared", and two, I liked to have a spare in case something broke or got lost.
Now I have to think, do I open it and perform, or save it sealed as a collectible? Can't believe a used one sold for $235. I agree with Felixs comment on an items worth. Somethings worth is determined by a few factors. How many people desire the item, its condition, and rarity. Whatever said item sells for is the price worth to the buyer. They may not have wanted to pay such a high price but they do/did because it was worth it to them. Which doesn't necessarily mean others will agree with that worth. |
