http://streetslive.org/blog/2013/03/the-powers-that-be Also just a heads up of things in New Zealand. The Auckland council are reviewing the street trading by laws at the moment. Its very early days but it worth keeping an eye on it as buskers and street performers are mentioned in it.

Thanks for news on the Auckland scene. I was busking with magic in Queen Street last Dec, and in Jan of this year, and happy enough with how things were. To me, the busking scene is working o.k. as it is. One or two pepole hogging their spots on the day, but room enough to give that spot a miss and busk somewhere else along Q St. I hope the council sees the difference between trading and busking.I hope the council accepts "Don't fix it if it ain't broke." A review doesn't mean a change to the busking laws HAS to take place. Any idea of anything on the busking side in Auckland at the moment that may be causing the council concern? Keep us posted, please.
