For those who are near the Toronto area, Scott McClelland will be doing a lecture on Bizarre/theatre magic on March 24. It's only $10 and looks like it will be a great lecture. Here's the details:

Just as an aside to this subject, if you are ever in Toronto, please stop in at Browsers Den of Magic (the location for this lecture) and say hi to Jeff and one of the few traditional magic shops left on the North American continent. The family and I was on a trip to Toronto and Montreal this past Jan. and we stopped in at Browsers on the way in and I loved the shop sooooooo much that after the car trip north, we stopped in again on our way back, before we dropped off the car and flew out of Toronto.

I love the internet, I love the convenience of buying props online and having them delivered right to your door, but I miss the personal touch, the ability to hang out, talk magic, pass on routines and finger flick. Our only magic shop in the Denver area closed over a year ago... it too was one of those shops where magicians could feel right at home.

So... no matter where you are from, give Browsers a few minutes of your time if you're passing through Toronto.

I think he's planning to have lecture notes available, as well as a few special treats for those who can make it...

Will any of you be attending his show at the Papermill that weekend? https://www.facebook.com/events/561710937187146/

At this time I am working on a Special DVD that will be a tour of The Diablo Manor... my home.
This will take a look at my collection of FREAKS, Mummies, Cursed Objects and Vintage Magick that are all real.

I will also be adding to the DVD a piece of film footage of my grandfather talking about his work as a Vaudeville Magician and Purveyor of Wonderment.

This will be on sale at my lecture... and so will my special version of The Needle Through Arm, that I have done for the past 21 years on TV and in movies. (this comes with its own special archaic looking medical paraphernalia for the feat)

And for the lucky few that come to the lecture I will be selling a beautiful antique framed REAL Freakshow Ticket from my grandfathers show in 1930. (this will be limited to ONLY 13 Freakshow tickets, because I have a very limited quantity)

My lecture will be touching on how to make your Show more mystical and a 'How to' create props that look ancient and worn.
I will also be talking about scripting and the importance historical continuity.

During the lecture I will be performing a couple of select pieces from my collection and Grandfathers Show.

But now its back to the filming and editing... hope to see you there!

your fiend,
Scott McClelland

I have now clocked in around 50 hours of straight work on the Special Edition DVD... who woulda thunk that this could be soooo time consuming?
The DVD is going to have exclusive vintage footage of my grandfathers traveling Sideshow and Carnival, plus a in depth look at some of my most coveted FREAKS... including the original Barnum Fee Jee Mermaid.

There will be many creepy surprises for those that come to the lecture on the Sunday March 24th, I will be performing a few of my favorite feats and rituals.

By the way the batch of 'Diablo Needle thru Arm kits' are now completed and I know that there will be a few Bizarrists that will want to get their hands on this little gem. (I have created a very in depth 'How To' video for everyone that purchases one. I ONLY have 9 of these kits built, because of the time it takes to make them, and so these are going to be a very Limited Edition collectable.

Well... back to editing and filming.
