Hi Guys I've been practicing card sleights and I’ve played around with one of my own. What I’ve been doing is to hold the deck in my left hand have 2 aces one red one black back to back face up in my right hand and then throw the two aces at the deck as one card but flipping it over as I throw it so I get an instant colour change. I find this really easy to do, I've not been doing sleight of hand long so don't know all the moves. Could any of you guys tell me if this is an already discovered sleight? I'm sure it is but I'm getting great pleasure just messing around discovering things for myself experimenting, I am thinking of tricks I can make up to use it. The other thing I like about it is when you throw the 2 aces the top one slips on top of the pack on it's own and the one underneath it melds into the pack. So it looks like you threw an ace at the pack and it changed colour.
But any info would be a great help. Steve |

Hello Steve,
I'm not 100% sure but I think this move comes from Dan and Dave Buck. Again, not sure about the inventor of the move but the way you described your move, I'm pretty sure it already exists. |

Harry: I thought the snap change was the one were you show the face of the card which you hold horizontally near the bottom right corner, and as you flick your left fingers in the card, it changes...
Stescouse: as described, it looks like something that might be at least a century old. Even I have come with this idea while ago |

Sounds like a snap change with a slightly different angle maybe?

Thanks Guys, I realise now a few weeks that it is a snap change now I'm doing it a lot smoother. I've combined it with Greg Wilsons natural double lift and throw from hand to hand from . Then I rub the card(s) together do the snap change and ask the spectator to examine the card while I palm and dump the other card. Combined with Greg's snap throw it convinces that there can only be one card.
Having a blast becoming dexterious with cards! |
