I can't imagine anyone being able to body load 25 doves.

Just sayin what I heard. I didn't quite believe it either, but I heard he was a pretty big guy. Maybe he just meant 25 dove productions in the 14 minutes. That would make more sense LOL. Plus you shouldnt always believe what you hear.

Vinnie, Greg used 10 birds but they weren't all body loads. Only 6 of them were which is pretty easy to do.

Magicneil, even for a big guy, 25 birds would be a lot to carry. I never believe anything I hear. If there were such an act, I'd love to see what he looked like before and after. That would be about 6 or 7 pounds of birds being carried. Not very likely.

I know that Dave..

Well, if you want more body loads, and already have the original spots taken, you could always put the doves in a holder, and then put them in your tails.. Or make custom pockets for each individual dove, and steal the loop from the tail holders while turned to one side..

The most I have used on my jacket as a body load was 10. Four on each side and one on each sleeve. I have only done this twice in my life. I don't think I'll do it again.

Normally, I do seven body loads, 3 on each side and one on my right sleeve. Sometimes, an additional one on my back if I am wearing tails.

It is not the quantity of doves but the quality of how it is produced. Too much and it may get montonous and bore the audience. That's my opinion. Nowadays, I am down to 4 doves.

I used to use 8 but only 6 of them were body loaded. Gave up animals years ago though.

But the most doves I have ever heard about used in a dove act would have to be 50.I forget the mans name but I heard he produced 50 doves in his 14 minute act. 25 of which were body loads(NO JOKE}. at the end of the act he would vanish them and the other 25 doves flew to him from the back of the theatre.

I talked to the guy who claimed he could do it. by no means would it be impossible to body load 25 birds if your wearing a big enough tailscoat. this can be achived rather easy think about all the places you can put birds on a tailscoat . This man could have easily worn 8-10 birds on his chest alone not to mention loading birds in your tails and sleaves. I have never seen the this act but from the way it sounds it would be very possible.

Hey Graham,

I heard about this act from a VERY reliable source, So its good to see a guy who has actually met the man who did it. I thought about it a lot and with some creative thinking you could body load several doves especially if you are wearing tails. Although I must agree with Dave I would like to see the guy before and after the act because it would be like watching a Jenny Craig commercial with all those doves coming out. 25 doves is ALOT of doves but I still don't feel it would be impossible.

Just my 2 cents

I never said it was impossible but think about it for a minute. If he loaded 8-10 birds in the chest area, the buldges would be tremendous. The coat would have to be very large I think, and heavily padded to prevent the after show sag. You could have 4 birds in the sleeves and several in the tails. The rest would have to been distributed around the body. Now the problem would seem to be, how to retrieve them? That would be 20 or so loops.

We could all probably load 25 birds, but getting to them for the productions would seem like a comedy of errors I think.

I'd have the utmost respect for anyone that could actually pull this off smoothly.

Agreed, We could load the doves but retrieving all of them would be a challenge.I guess I would have to see the act to completly believe it though.

Dave, I agree aswell..

But, maybe this guy was loading doves in places no one thought about.. For example, putting pockets in your pants.. Maybe that would work.. Or if he started with a tophat on, (i guess this is technicly not a body load, but maybe some owuld consider it to be) he loaded a bird or 2 in the tophat..

Both Vinny and Dave make very good points. Like I said with creative thinking you could load doves in unusual places much like Vinny explained. With work you could load a lot more doves than you would usually think of. But I still have to agree with Dave Scribner that, it is a lot of weight that would be lost and retrieving them would be a pain. Basically to sum it up I would like to see the act LOL.

It looks like I have a lot of catching up to do.

And by the way, Dave, I can understand you are holding a girl up front. Is the other child a boy or girl?

Mike, both are girls, Lilly is 3 and Gretchen is 1 1/2. Photo is a little outdated. Trying to get them into holders for bodyloads is a real project Smile

If you would like a magician in 6 more months for Grethen's 2nd birthday give me a call. Since you are a member I would only charge you only $50.00 as long as you pay for the room and board, etc. Smile
