This Sunday!

http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/3360

"There's a very short list of creators/performers in the magic community that I will sit up and pay close attention to when they speak. Sometimes they speak through their commercial releases and if I'm lucky enough to be their friends, I get to hear from them directly! Colin Mcleod is at the top of that list. If you get the chance to hear, see or read anything from Colin you WILL walk away with a fresh innovative perspective. I guarantee it."

What a terrific lecture! Just over now after nearly 4 hours. Packed with powerful stuff and great thinking--definitely one to watch a few times.

Highly recommended if you're into mentalism.

Oh, and I think Patrick Redford did a terrific job as "guest host". Smile

Colin makes it look only he's got the "gift"! What an engaging, fantastic performer!

It's ready for re-watching!

Almost zero seems like a bit of a blunt answer.

Lemonjug, If your looking to this lecture for close up material in terms of actual routines / effects then you may be disappointed or miss the points, he covers plenty of material and I can see at least a couple of effects that would work close up but for me the real gold here was Colins insight in terms of presentation, audience management, structuring etc all of which could be used to improve and enhance your close up.

A variation of the opener will be going straight into my repertoire, the only reason that I didn't fill an envelope with with pins and try it out in the office today was that I was fairly hung over and would probably have screwed it up.

Agreed!

Colin's scripting ( SOOOOO important ) and structuring was gold. I've re-watched it twice and have learned so much.

I'll need to watch it again to refresh my memory, but I think much of the card stuff could work close up.

Agree that the real gold is Colin's thoughts on presentation, structuring, developing effects, hairstyling Smile, etc. You'll still get a lot of this lecture even if you only do close-up.

I have to say that this lecture was absolutely incredible. This was the first magic puchase I've made in months and I was not let down. It's obvious that Colin actually performs this stuff in the real world. This was perhaps the first Penguin lecture that had my full attention for the entire four hours.

I perform a LOT of shows and have had my act pretty much set for a while but now after watching Colin's lecture, I've been forced to consider making some changes just so that I can include some of these routines (or versions of them) into my act.

Thanks for a great lecture Colin.

You can do almost anything close up, you could work almost anything to be close up,

it's maybe easier to say there are definitely 3 or 4 things that cannot be done close up at all
