I was surfing and ran across a new product that is out by JL. As most of you know they make Billiard Balls among other magic props.

They have come up with an obvious Billiard Ball, and it may give the modern magician some interesting magical abilities.

It is a Billiard Ball that is cut in half and held together with a magnet.

Think of the possibilities with such a ball. If you have watched he videos on manipulation of Billiard Balls, you may have noted the Asian magicians doing instant ball productions between the fingers of all 4 balls.

No comes the JL Ball, just think with only 2 balls you can produce 3 balls, add to that some of the Shimada handlings and moves and you can easily have 1 to 4 with 2 balls and as shell. Maybe even with 2 split balls you could produce 4 balls from 2 balls.

The possibilities are very exciting and interesting to think about the ways to use such a ball.

Hi Bill,

Generally I would use a triple shell stack for a 1 to 4 multiplication.

I can imagine that you can do a 4 to 8 split (as the finale) with 4 of this gimmick Smile
This was an idea which I have seen before, which was done with 4 balls and 4 shells.
I guess this becomes a lot easier with this gimmick.

Does it have 1 colour only? It might be fun to play with two hemispheres with different colours Smile
As always angle can be problematic.

The demo has the girl slow down when splitting the ball, the magnets must be strong or tight.
I played with that years ago, and decided on using coins instead of balls.

Hi Absolute Zero, yes you are absolutely correct, but take off those "tunnel vision" glasses for a moment, and open up to the possibilities of an added gimmick. One that you can use like a shell and show as a complete ball. Easily handled with confidence, with hands empty.

One possibility is to show a single ball, multiply to two, then back to one and show both sides of the ball, and your hands totally clean.

There is another dimension of reality here that will shock some viewers, with todays innovative billiard ball talent.

Here is the promo for the "Split Magnet Mirage Ball".
