After a friend was suprised when I told her I did magic, I thought I'd send videos to back me up (since we don't live on the same continent, it's rather difficult to actually perform for her). But before sending anything, I'd like to have the opinion of a safer audience, like you! I would like to hear what you think of the technique, and also if it's safe to send to a lay person.
A sandwich trick by Bébel, whose name I don't remember... http://youtu.be/lHr4c8PvdnU A rendition of Reset, which is a mix of Earl Nelson's, Thomas Hierlings, Paul Harris, with some personnal handling too. http://youtu.be/RP6_VGrgEUw P! PS: If you don't speak French, I'm sorry. Hopefully, it's visual enough. PS2: If you speak French, I'm sorry too: I haven't worked on the patter of those tricks yet... |

I think it is a big mistake, that she can't see your face. What she will see is only hands doing moves, not a performance of magic. This kind of video clips may be acceptable to show other magicians on a forum like this, but other than that, I wouldn't show that to normal people.
Don't show her anything, until you have worked out everything, including patter of course. |

Overall the technique is quite impressive and I can tell that you have practised plenty. There were one or two brief moments when a couple of the moves could have been a tiny bit cleaner, but the main impression I got was that you are very accomplished with cards. I agree that for laymen its important to be able to see your face which could add a lot to the entertainment factor of the performance.

Uli: yes, I see your point, and I agree...
Fin: Thank you. I'll try to make videos with a better body frame next times. P! |
