I am to go on a tv interview for work and am looking for a very short, visual trick to do. I thought about a goldfish production, but not sure when in the two hours we tape it will come up - thus unsure about the life of the fish. Any ideas on a great, visual trick to do? Really appreciate any suggestions!

To suggest a new trick to learn is silly.
Take something from your own repertoire, something that is proven and that you can do best and present THAT. Don't go for the unknown, when it was the 'known' that got you this interview. |

Do you do Gypsy Thread?
It can be quick and visual or presented with a patter line. Either way the effect is very clear and hard to miss. The nice thing is they practically have to focus on you to see it and that may cut some of the distracting chatter that many "News shows" feel the need to do. I agree with harbour, Do something you already do. Good Luck! -Mary Mowder |

NO TABLES
Done kind of visual color change. Of see if they want audience participation like with a host. Flash bills, vanishing bird cage, so many things come to mind. I take a case of stuff and ask what they atenlookin for. It's sleight to afl questions. But whatever you pull from the case should already be set up. Go right into It. I've been on over 200 shows they ate sold on something flashy to prove you can hold their attention then you quick them as ribeye specifics and what you actually perform may not be the trick that bhets you in the door. Could you explain the interview situation any better?
I don't think I've got the right idea of it. -Mary |

Jay's correct. Get some more dirt on what they "expect" or what they're "in to". I had a 50th b-day party for 200 ppl at a hall 3 weeks ago. They asked for 45 mins strolling and 15-20 mins stage. Beforehand I contacted the b-day boys family and got some dirt on some of his preferences, etc. Turned out Caribbean rum was his thing .. I was so glad I asked. I did a bunch of cool stuff then at the end I did a nice splash bottle production with a silk (like David Stone's performance). He was beyond elated. Very visual and catered to his personal interests.

When is the interview? How much time do you have to prep?

I created Modern Triumph for TV use.
I also would recommend anything floating..Invisible on Ellusionist is a winner with the ring. Of course Modern Times by Henry Evans as well. |

Harlan's Vortex is quick, visual and pretty easy.
