That Alfaro vent figure that stirred up so much controversy recently
appears to be back on eBay.

I hope that figure is registered for frequent flyer miles.

Sorry to hear that your Axtell puppet never arrived, Ben!

Don't give up hope, though.
I once had a package shipped from the US to here (Taiwan)
that took over 2 months to arrive.
The package decided to take a detour through two other countries
for apparently no good reason.

On the other hand, a disgruntled postal worker may be enjoying
playing with your puppet at this very moment.

Ugh! I'm going through that now. I bought something from another forum member in another country, and I think it's taking a world tour. It's been over three months since he shipped it.

Although it can be quite expensive,
I have had great service when I used express mail.
I have had packages sent overseas and arrive in 4 days.

I've had good luck in the past sending packages overseas, and receiving them - the only time I had a problem was when the person was not getting around to shipping the item. Although that wasn't the case this time, the item was shipped and the tracking number sent to me the day after I paid for it - I don't know if it was express or regular though, no point in even asking now....

I live in Spain and normally anything from the USA takes about 2 weeks, I once ordered something from Madrid and gave up all hope of ever seeing it, it arrived 7 weeks later. No idea why.
By failing to prepare, we are preparing to fail.

I lived in the Philippines a number of years ago, and anything mailed to us from America without being designated "air mail" could take months to arrive.

I think that Customs could hold a package for weeks or months (for any reason. In The Netherlands Customs can hold your package for 6 weeks max. I don't know how they do it in other Countries. But is is frustrating!

I don't think our customs here is as bad, I've gotten stuff from other countries in as little as a few weeks.

I don't know how it was sent, but it's apparently a case this time of having been lost, mishandled or misplaced somewhere along the way.

The first time I ordered from overseas to the U.S. I was astounded at how little hassle it was to get it.

USPS Express Mail is great, and a real bargain to boot.

Jokes about the US Postal service have always been fashionable, but I've found it to be the most reliable package delivery service, by far.
I use their service almost exclusively these days... I have shipped dummies to destinations including Great Britain, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Australia, Pakistan, and Malaysia for 1/4 to 1/3 of the cost compared to UPS and FedEx...and with the USPS, the packages almost always arrive in their destination countries within 3 days, with nary a hiccup.

Compare that to UPS & FedEx, who have unfortunately both provided me with multiple horror stories, including a harrowing experience 18 years ago involving FedEx's rather boneheaded misrouting of a package containing the _original_ Howdy Doody marionette. It took FedEx a full 5 days to figure out where they went wrong...and then 2 more days after that to get the puppet where it needed to be. So much for FedEx's next day delivery (I guess it's fine, as long as you allow a week).

Now that I think of it, that is probably when my hair went white. LOL.

What the UPS does not tell their customers is that when they ship packages overseas,
they often send it to a 3rd-party local shipper in that country.
Often, the local shipper has far lower standards than UPS itself,
and the person receiving the package has to deal with the local shipper
and any problems that they might cause.

I always request sellers to ship by USPS (not UPS),
but many sellers insist on UPS and cannot understand that
there are no brown vans and men in UPS uniforms over here.
