Astor is a great thinker. His prop based mentalism tricks are very well thought out, designed and clever. Those who have some of his earlier effects will agree with me on that.

Actually when I played along on the first time I watched the clip I was one card out and nearly fell off my chair! If it is 100% it certainly packs a punch and Astor's website states that it was sold out at Blackpool.

What's complicated about it ?

Looks straight forward to me. She names a card and a number. He turns cards around (quicker than counting down) and he instanly sticks 2 number charts on and you can see that the number and card match.

personally I prefer a deck and dealing BUT for platform the whole of the audience(not just the person next to you) can see what's happening.

Dai Vernon once said: "Confusion is not magic!"

Sorry: The method can even be very clever and very well manufactured equipment ... but that complication, what a mess ... and also nothing very aesthetic.

My honest opinion.

I totally disagree with Kardini! First, what is confusing in this effect? Spectators freely choose a card and a number and that named card appears at the named number on a picture of a deck of fifty-two cards-quite creative. Secondly, this effect is extremely practical for several venues. I think you are knit-picking saying it's confusing. Kardini and charliemagic, what is so confusing here? Please be specific!
