When you offer a spectator a deck to shuffle, and they get very involved, say, "Take your time, I get paid by the hour."

The absolute best line, to be used with a spectator, in magic, mentalism, or anything else is:
Thank you.

I received a lot of comments on this next trick, but I'm gonna do it anyway. Smile

After picking a card...."Do you want to change your mind?" No. "Your happy with the mind you have?"

It is a very bad idea to insults with anyone including a heckler. The best thing you can do is ignore them.
It really makes a performer look really little!

Sometimes people are heckling you but all in good fun (more likely in a walk-around / close-up magic setting.) In other words they are heckling but not to the point of inappropriate behavior. To them I say, "Actually sir, yours is a non-speaking part"!

I'll see everyone next winter. I just heard the owner say "It will be a cold day in January when I hire him again." Smile

I guess it is all a matter of perspective, but after being on the receiving end of a heckler, it does tend to change your viewpoint.
Personally, I love to watch an entertainer who can verbally crush the heckler.
Unfortunately in the real world it does seem that the crowd usually favors the heckler, kind of like in school when all the girls liked the kid most likely to go nowhere.
Oh well, I'm still convinced that they will eventually come back for me and take me back to my real planet!
LOL...I spend a lot of time watching those lights in the sky...just waiting...
Anyway some great lines here
Thanks

Bill Malone has good advice on how to deal with hecklers on his volume 4 DVD. He says that if the heckler is adding to the show and making it funny, go along with it! But, if the guy is a true moron, ignore him and move on!!!

I agree. Don't ignore them all. Sometimes they're a godsend!
