Guys, please take a minute and think of Café's member Kevin.

Some of you probably heard about his decisions to end his life by commiting suicide in the garage. He tried - and never succeeded - to make friends, be it here or in real life.

I can't (and won't) judge whether harsh comments and offenses in the internet pushed him over the edge.
But what we all have to learn from this incredible incident is that behind each and every Avatar there is a person, a human being. Someone with strengths and weaknesses but most of all with feelings.
It's not our right to hurt them in any way!
Although I haven't known him nor even know his username I am very touched and shocked by his death.
Let's try that this will never happen again!

I didn't know Kevin but this is very sad and makes you think about life and what's important and what not ... .

I work with a lot of kids and it's amazing how a simple gesture or kind word can make someone's day. I know there are a lot of times on The Magic Café where some harsh words are spoken. I didn't know Kevin but I would guess that if there were harsh words, they probably didn't cause him to end his life. However, one does have to wonder if a few kind words could have made a difference. It's always so sad when someone feels their life is so horrible that death is the best option. Take time out today to let people know how important they are to you. Try to make something positive come out of an awful tragedy.
