Another movie I saw over the weekend.
I thought it was a great battleship film. I liked Russel Crowe's character in it and thought the story was quite good. Good action and good entertainment (Not a classic though). I think this film is up for a nomination at the Oscars! Anyone else think that |

Will go and see it this coming weekend. Russel Crowe is a great actor, specially in action movies.

Great film, very realistic and a lot of action. I really enjoyed some of the camera work and I felt the director gave us all a real sense of what it was like to live aboard ship in those days. I will certainly buy the DVD when it's finally released. Anamorphic Widescreen of course.

Mr. Fancy Plasma huh?
LoL. My parents just bought a plasma. Although we are living at our Grandparents until we move. The t.v. was on sale so they picked it up. Grandparents bought one too. Chris |

I think this is one of the best films 2003.
This is a high quality production. |

My son took me on my birthday. Here is a film where special effects do not outshine but enhance some fine acting.
Look out for that plasma stuff though. That's the stuff the Enterprise crew is always trying to ignite in order to confuse the bad aliens.

I've been reading the series, which is acknowledged by many critics as the best historical fiction ever written. There are twenty books (the movie is based on the tenth). It's great reading, but can be quite challenging if you aren't comfortable with stretching your vocabulary. I would highly recommend them though if you enjoy that sort of thing.
I loved the movie as well, and think it is quite faithful to the spirit of the books. -Reg {*}

Was this movie a box office bomb? I heard a lot about it and then nothing.

There is nothing that remains so constant as change. Don't end up like concrete, all mixed up and permanently set.
