I'm having trouble with the index finger pivot of the bottom card. The problem is that I can't get the card to stick to my finger enough to slide it off the pack. I noticed that Daryl licked his fingers before doing this cut but continued doing it with ease even awhile later after any moisture on his fingers would've evaporated. Does anyone else have trouble with this. Any advice on how to get the card to stick to the finger? I try wetting my finger a bit and that seems to work but it also marks the cards.

I have no problem with this. You don;t want the card to stick to the finger. When the top new top packet coalesces with the new bottom packet, the forefinger is still in between, so the opposing tension makes the card which is above the firefinger to begin to pivot out, as soon as the card starts to move out, squeeze the deck beetween all fingers, so it is closed, and then continie to pivot it out. You can use the 3rd finger fo help too.

A firmer push may do it, if not, try a lighter push. Experiment with licked fingers(just a bit) then rub them so some comes off, then try it again.

Make sure not to put a lot of pressure on the deck.

It's one of those things where it takes 50 times to do it right, but once you get it then you can do it 50 times in a row.

You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. |

If it won't work if you try it alone, try it in front of someone. I usually tend to sweat just a tiny little bit on my hands, that's enough for the card to stick pretty good. Also, as it has already been mentioned, try to experiment with the pressure of the index (firmer and lighter). If nothing helps, go check out your bathroom. I'm sure you will find some creme (how do you call it? ) which will help. It also did for me.
How much do you lick your finger? I don't think it will mark the cards... Just try running it over your tongue, don't even use saliva. Put your index on your tongue with a little pressure, and then tap it on your trousers 2 times. That's how I do it. It works pretty well. Hope that helps.. good luck Alex edit: whoops, that post is years old.. okay, maybe it'll help others then |
