I don't get to see my father often, possibly once a year. He has a truck driving job and lives a ways away. He will possibly be coming down for my brother's graduation.
So three years ago I surprised my father and he found out how much into magic I was. I took his bill and turned it inside out, 4 quarters, I've never seen that kind of twinkle in his eye. The kind you see when your world turns inside out on you in a good way, a true moment of astonishment. I cried of happiness on this day and I got to see my father this way. At a impromptu family gathering he pulled out the bill from his wallet and told everyone the story of the day I did this, I took the bill and did Ignition with it, another favorite moment with my father. I'll be seeing my old man again soon, what are some effects you guys can suggest? Effects I can do with the same mis made bill and that I can give it back to him so I may do a different effect with it the following year. |

Dan Garrett had a nice idea called Torn & Quartered. You can find it hear:

Hi
Turn it back to a normal bill, and then do fraud for him. This way you get your mismade bill back and he has a new souvenir to show off. |

A few ideas:
Self folding mismade bill (shuttle pass & dupe) Animated bill e.g. butterfly (Garcia, l--ps?) or Losander's effect on the palm of the hand (forget the name) Torn corner to impossible location such as a sealed clear key fob (can then keep on his truck keys) needs dupe & switch Impossible location such as sealed envelope, or using 'Fob' (you can then offer to put it in a 'matching' key ring). Whatever you do, I hope it is a special moment for you both. Charlie |

I can't know for sure, but I would tend to think that most other tricks would now be anti-climatic. Let him keep that special bill as a fond remembrance of that earlier time.
If he asks to see more magic, pick something that doesn't involve bills, yet maybe something that the two of you get to personalize (like Anniversary Waltz, or where you each sign a separate coin, but both signatures end up on the same coin (Sankey has a nice way of doing this). Such an effect could be used to represent that the two of you will be close, even though separated by miles. Still, be pleased with and ready to accept your first success. John

A signed bent quarter as a good luck memento. If he specifically wants another trick with that bill, offer to explain it by way of using the Wonderland Bill concept. When you pass thru the door, the bill turned inside out.
Best Steve
