Sorry this is not very magic but.
I am interested in learning contact juggling but I don't know how to start Can you make home-made balls to start with?(and how to) Is there a good dvd or is it better to learn on you tube for nothing? |

A lacrosse ball is around $3 and works great for learning to do this. You can probably buy a few and have one in every place you are likely to have a couple of minutes to play around. I have one in my jacket pocket right now. There are a lot of tutorials on YouTube and I find a good video to be very helpful. Unlike magic, there are not a bunch of secrets to juggling. The whole point is to display a skill as opposed to displaying an impossiblity (that takes a lot of skill but should look effortless to look like magic). -Patrick |

G'day SethJM
Tutorial dvd's on contact juggling will suggest that you practice with a plastic ball the same size as the clear acrylic ball that you plan to use for performance. So an inexpensive ball from a $2 shop would be adequate. In WA you will most likely have to order a proper clear acrylic ball for performance from a juggling supply shop online. You could check out the following - http://www.threeworlds.com.au - or - http://www.circusstuff.com.au - both have a good name for honest and reliable service. There are a number of contact juggling tutorials on you tube and I am sure one of them will help you along the way. BTW - contact juggling is pretty magical. Bob Latta (aka Troppo Bob) |
