Have you ever tried Lite-Flite by Perry Maynard? Is it good?
Thanks Academy |

It is a great trick-- think Fearson's Floating Cigarette without the cigarette.

Very clever and looks great at night ( bar/restaurant ).
Buy the video also. It's worth it to learn the hook up.

Thanks guys. A simple curiosity: do you know if it's possible to change the light inside with another color?
Thanks a lot Academy |

I believe it's an LED type light so unless you're good with soldering it might be difficult. You might not want to experiment with colors because different colors give different reflections and may give something away. *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*

I think it's a bit overpriced for what it is. It's just the Fearson' hookup with a glowing ball, so you're mostly paying for that ball, which you could probably make from any 25 cent machine toy.

I start my routine with this and then move onto d'lites. May be cheap to make once you know the secret (aren't most effects!?) but I haven't regreted this purchase once!

No soldering required as it is only bent leads so, Yes, you can change it. I agree that it is dependant on the ball color and that a different color may cause reflections. I too wanted to modify it with a yellow ball and yellow led to present as the floating golden "Snitch" in my Harry Potter show.
Uh oh...I may have opened a floodgate on that one...

I got this tonight and was somewhat disappointed in the cheap ball and the way the light seems to be directing a spot on the end.
I'm wondering if black tipping the led would help give a more uniform light. If you have weak or poor eyesight this one can be very tough to get set up LOL Nick Zender |

Stick with it, you will know it was all worth it when you see their faces afterwards

Is the hook up one that is practical for strolling, or better for someone who stays in one place like behind a bar?

I think that the spot created by the light provides a strobe effect as the ball spins. It seems like part of the charm of this effect. However, in truth, I would rather float a larger ball that is not lit and does not spin (ala Kenton Knepper on his web site). To me, that would seem closer to how a real magical levitation of a sphere would be.

Once you get the hang of it you can stroll.
Be prepared for breakage though and have something ready in your pocket as a backup.

I only used the light-flight in a show 3 times. I really hate thread. But it is really bright and you can do lots of things to prove there is nothing supporting it.

It is a cool effect, but I break the IT EVERY time I use it. I need to practice more and learn how much the thread can take.
