Hi, I'm absolutely fascinated by card flourishes, whether it involves performing a magic trick or not. I would really love to learn some of these flourishes. I would prefer a DVD rather than a video or book since I'll have a more clear visual view of the flourish itself. Thanks.

Jeff McBride, “Art of Card Manipulation”.

I haven't seen them but I have heard this recommendation all the time.

Jeff McBride’s 3 volumes are the best there is on card manipulation and flourishes. Make sure you start with volume 1.

This will give you an awesome start into the art of card manipulation. Smile

Thanks. I was considering that last year. I forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me. Anything else?

McBride is definitely the way to go. Its one of the first things I got my hands on. It’s just great.
Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch?

McBride's Art of Card Manipulation DVDs will keep you busy for quite a while! I agree with everyone and that is the place to start.

If you really get into flourishes, I would recommend the book "Encyclopedia of Card Flourishes" and checkout the pasteboard forum. It is dedicated to flourishing.

Good luck with it! It is worth all the work, I promise!

Another vote for McBride's Art of Card Manipulation.
In loving memory of Hughie Thomasson 1952-2007.

You brought something beautiful to this world, you touched my heart, my soul and my life. You will be greatly missed.

Until we meet again “my old friend”.

I've had a great time with Jeff McBride's Art of Card Manipulation DVD vol 1. Most of the material I could do after a good amount of practice. Some of the flourishes are more difficult but just fun to practice. There are a few things from this video I do almost everytime I
take a deck of cards out of the pack.
Have fun.
