I was glad to see that Doc Eason was one of those kids who read Bill Turner's wonderful book "How to Do Tricks with Cards," which was originally published in hardback in 1949 under the title "The Card Wizard." It was in print as a paperback in the 1960s through the 1980s. Illustrated by Nelson Hahne. A gem. Very good brief, to-the-point explanations of moves, tricks, misdirection and presentation. I loved it when I was a kid.

Books are a great place to hide great tricks and routines from beginner magicians. Doc is telling his age here. I have a huge library too). Pros will tell you the old books are priceless (to those who can read). We can admit our secret and it stays a secret! That is MAGIC!
