Arthur Fords Spiritualist Church told her that the $10,000.00 price was preventing them from getting the Message and she should retract her offer. As soon as she did it was only a few weeks and Arthur came to her home with the correct Secret Word "BELIEVE" and the code it was hidden in ... Ford never even asked for the money.

Ford didn't have to ask Bess for the money. The notoriety he gained from revealing "the message" was like money in the bank.
