I am a programmer not a magician but how about binary code?

Hi aukt,

I've talked about this in another thread and Hani and I have discussed this as well.

On the Android, it's possible to have a short and long vibration code ( short = 0, long = 1 ).

The problem with iOS is, Apple does not give a developer access to turning on and off vibration . . . all you get is a vibration command that vibrates once, you can't change the length of that vibration.

If you've ever played an iOS game that supports vibration, you may have noticed this.

With a short and long vibration code it IS possible to have a TRUE binary system that can accomodate a LOT of variables with a relatively small vibration code. With 7 pulses you can communicate 128 images (127 if you don't count 0).

cheers,
Greg

Hello friends,

Rostami Magic will soon be launching a new website.

This site has a forum, where we can have a private teleFoto forum where we can discuss ideas.

coming soon,

I'm planning to use this for quick one card tarot reading. I just test run the ESP symbol just now for a small group of people and it blew their mind.

Here is a cool routine that you can do with TeleFoto .. I actually developed a dedicated app (on the android play store for free) for doing this but it should also work nicely with TeleFoto with 52 playing cards:

In TeleFoto Load in all 52 playing card images. You could use 2 of your own devices or bring up the spectators screen and use that to send you the card they select.

One of the spectators is a transmitter and the 2nd spectator is the receiver.

The receiver is given an ID to hold.

The transmitter selects a card and turns over the device (ipad, iphone or ipod) when they have made their final selection.

Put in your own theatrical material here ....

You know what card to do the ID thingy .. you act and reveal the card.

The reactions you get by doing this are out of this world ... and the spectators take all the credit.

Currently the app I wrote uses sound (earpiece) or a watch for the reveal to the magician/mentalist via on the watch it says "5 of spades" -- it can also prompt you with the card that is above the reversed card for people who have trouble with the ID. My Android app is free so you can check it out ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skindellmagic.espblue&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5za2luZGVsbG1hZ2ljLmVzcGJsdWUiXQ.. ) .. and how you can adapt the idea with telephoto .. when the watch SDK is available for the Apple devices I plan on developing a specific one of iDevices. Look at the pictures for the idea even if you don't have an Android device.

Here is a .zip file of all 52 playing cards .. perhaps Greg can make this as well as the tarot cards a default set to select from: http://www.skindellmagic.com/cards.zip

I too would not use Facebook, I think it is a total waste of time , just my opinión, but who cares if so and so is doing the shopping etc. also its too easy to get infoormation about people for fraudulent means.

Hello friends,

I really love this thread.

Our buddy George (george1953) has been generous enough to share the details (and memory tricks) for his "Random" album (THE album that I perform ALL the time).

1. One rhymes with run. Photo of a person(s) running.
2. Two rhymes with zoo. A lion lives in a zoo.
3. Three and tree. A photo of a tree.
4. Four rhymes with goal. Photo of a soccer goal.
5. Five is the same word as fire except for one letter
6. Six rhymes with tricks. A photo of a magic trick or a dog doing tricks.
7. Seven rhymes with heaven. A painting or graphic abstract representation of heaven
8. Eight rhymes with gate. A photo of a gate.
9. Nine rhymes with wine. A photo of glass(es) of wine.
10. Ten rhymes with Ben. A photo of the Big Ben clock tower in London.

George has 30 photos in his album.
The first 10 photos are really random photos that have nothing to do with the above topics.

There are 20 photos with vibration codes with photo pairs that are spaced 10 apart (like the default Vegas album).
Hence if in position one there is a photo of a man running, in position 11 there's a photo of a couple running. This pattern continues through his album (2=lion 12=lion).
Each photo in George's album is VERY different from it's pair. Hence one photo of a lion is in sunlight, while the other is a silhouette (brilliant).
This makes the photos look super random and makes it really hard to even notice a loop in the 20 photos.

My only contribution to his album is my photo pairs are not spaced 10 apart. If my runner is in postion #1, the pair is in position #14.
So my first 10 photos are in the above order, but the last 10 photos are in a random order.
Once again this is done to break ANY perceived pattern in the photos.

My performance of this album is:
"Here's a website that every day displays thousands of new random photos".

As, you're looking through the first 10 or so photos I comment:
"Wow, all of these are new photos that I've never seen".

Based on this script and the photos, there's absolutely no pattern or topic to the photos.

IT KILLS!!!!

Tomorrow, I'm gonna look into updating all of your albums. So, with George's permission, I'll see if I can give you all this album.

Thank you so much George,
Greg

Thank you VERY much George and Greg.

I'm liking this more and more.
I'm planning to load an album with the 65 I ages from my Photo Psyche effect (see signature)
I just need to come up with a way to code the buzzes.

Hello guys,

I've added an album with a full deck of cards, so 52 outs.

Inspired by George's idea the first image isn't a card but an image of two deck of cards and the name of the ''brand'', so that it looks like a sponsored virtual deck of cards.

The card are put in the album in random order but coded in new deck order from 1 to 52 (for example the 5 is a 5 of hearts. The 13 is the king oh H. The 26 the K of D.)

For the coding I've the that the 1 after the first pause is 5, and the 1 after the second pause is 20.
SO for example:

8=11101
21=101111 (2+5+5+5+5)
27=110101 (2+5+20)
32=1101101 (2+5+5+20)
52=11011011 (2+5+5+20+20)

the problem is that numbers like 40 will be a little long ( 11111011101 = 5+15+20) so I'm sure there is a better way but for now it works for me

Er1tro............ I have also made an album of a full deck of cards.

However, I find it far easier to code in the actual name of the card, rather than the 'position'.

This is the code I am using.......
First part of code is for the 'Suit'
spade=10
heart =110
club =1110
diamond=11110

After the pause, the value is given...
1=1
2=11
3=111
4=1111
5=11111
6=101
7=1101
8=11101
9=111101
10=1111101
11=1011 (jack)
12=11011 (queen)
13=111011 (king)

Examples....
Four of Club...... 11101111
Jack of Heart..... 1101011
Eight of Spade... 1011101

The longest code would be for .....
King of Diamonds........11110111011

Regards,

Ian.

Wow Ian and Er1tro,

OMG . . . that's AWESOME!

I didn't think anyone would be brave enough to put all 52 cards in, but your sure showed me. Smile

I have a similar coding to Ians' for cards but I only use 13 cards.

That's just too cool,
Greg

Great ideas people!

My coding suggestion for the Harry Lorayne fans

11111. 1-5

10 - represents 10( easier to add than 5)
101- 11
1011-12
10111-13
101111-14
1011111-15

110-represents 20
1101-21
11011-22
11-111-23
101111-24
1011111-25

you can do that for 31-35,41-45,51-55

gives you 30 codes, times two for duplicate pics
60 images should be more than enough

cheers

How about this, I've never tried it myself but think there is something there:

In essence were going to invert the binary code. Ie we will tally up the blanks only.

So every coding will begin with a one (just to let you know that transmission has started, this will be followed by the value of the card as follows:

1= 1110 - in normal binary it would be 0001 (notice how its inverted).
2= 1101
3= 1100
4= 1011
5= 1010
6= 1001
7= 1000
8= 0111
9= 0110
10= 0101
11= 0100
12= 0011
13= 0010

Now after an extended pause you can code the suit as follows:

Club 1
Heart 11
Spade 111
diamond 1111

Now working the binary in reverse you can easily code the following photo quantities with the following amount of buzzes:

(Excluding the initial buzz to let you know coding has begun:

Maximum of four buzzes to code up to 14 pictures
Maximum of five buzzes to code up to 31 pictures and
Maximum of six buzzes to code up to 63 pictures.

I hope this is useful to some!

Best Wishes Michael

How can you tell the difference between 3 and 9 ?

Easy, the initial buzz to let you know coding has begun means:

3= 11100
9= 10110

It's the initial single buzz that sets the bench mark!

Or 1 and 8, 9 and 12 etc. you need a 1 either side to be able to tell there is a 0.
