Hello everyone,

My new book will come out and be published in July.
The publishing company wants me to make a short magic video clip about 1 min for advertising purpose.
There must be my new book or new poster inside the video.
I'm looking for some ideas and here are some that comes in my mind:
produce dove in the book, torn and restore poster

Would you please give me some ideas ?

This would be an easier task if we knew what KIND of book it is, what is it about, who is the traget audience, etc.

For instance, my book is a weekly devotional. I sure wouldn't promote it with a video about Satan.

Yea I was about to ask the exact same thing.

You could do it as a negative ad campaign type of thing. That would be different.

This book is a book about my travel story in south america.
I have been to South America for 3 months as a magical backpacker.
I travel there, performing magic there, even busking there.
There are many interesting stories happened.

Well why not do a trick sort of recreating a story from the book?

What about a quick clip of you standing there with your backpack on, and a book in your hand. Wait, you need a walking stick for your travels. Open up the book and remove a long walking stick from it (4' pole production).

BTW, Barry Mitchell recently sold an oversize book / production prop (limited edition), and also sells a "pole control" (for appearing poles), and also a variety of appearing poles, wands, straws, pencils, candy canes, etc. Or you can use a more normal looking prop book like a hot book (just produce the pole out of it, instead of fire).

The oversize book prop ("Big Book Of...") isn't on his website. It was something recently promoted in his e-newsletter, and you had to email him for availability. Here's a video of it. Obviously, this presentation & prop is more for kidshow or comedy magicians, and the prop looks cartoony.
