Hi Christopher. I am sending my donation in! I think this is a great thing you are doing, and I am glad you are taking donations to help out!

There was something ego/pride based I think in creating a real-life hold-in-your hand book, but the e version would def be more financially possible. It's looking like even if I do the actual book, there will need to be an e-book available for purchase too. Never realized how many people prefer the e versions.

And thanks Jamie for that kind review. FYI - Jamie sent me an email with a brilliant idea for one of the effects in the video. I love when ideas start bouncing around.

That was the best $10 that I spent on a video! Lots of great ideas,(and tons of laughs to boot)! I enjoyed watching it for the entertainment value alone. Great job. It really got me thinking of everything I can adapt with my current inventory.

I recently finished watching part two and the bonus material. All I can do is echo my last post. Christopher is one very creative guy. This is without a doubt one of my best investments I have ever made.
I made up the hands quicker than the eyes trick and used it twice now as my opener for a school show, and for a show I performed for the Saskatchewan Museum. Both times it got huge reactions from both the adults and the children. Christophers idea's are absolutely ingenious! He has opened my mind to several creative idea's in how to incorporate many tricks to fit several different themes. I was able to use his idea's to make up some easy to build props that I used for my museum show which had a dinosaur theme. Because it went extremely well, I've been asked to come back and perform for them again for other theme shows. Christopher, thank you so much for sharing your mind with the magic community. You have not only helped open up my creative side more, but have made me a better performer.

Christopher, thank you for all the work and ideas you have shared via YouTube and now your teaching video. I plan on acquiring the video within the next few weeks. I did, however, want to suggest that you can actually provide both hard copies and ebooks. Some self-publishing companies will provide on-demand services for as many hard copies as you want printed (computers have paved the way for this convenience). I recommend you do some snoooping around to see what you can find at the best price. I have observed some authors who self-published on their their early runs only to have a larger publisher desire to publish at a later time with an updated edition. Hope this helps you with your very worthwhile material. In spite of this solution, I'm placing my vote for an ebook.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I found a pretty reasonable self-publishing site online. I'll check to see if they offer an e-book option also. I definitely plan on making an eBook available also. I was thinking about contacting lybrary.com since I've ordered a few things from there without a problem. But of anyone has any other suggestions or ideas, I'm definitely open.
And thanks to everyone for the kind reviews. I'm thrilled everybody is liking the videos! |

Christopher:
Publishing is actually rather easy. My book (a non-magic book) is available on both paper and e-book formats. Do a search for CreateSpace. They are an Amazon-owned publishing house. All the information on how to format and submit your book is available there. It is a "publish-on-demand" company...so a book isn't printed until it is ordered. The quality is EXCELLENT, and there is no up-front cost to you. You only pay for the book when it is ordered from Amazon. Actually, they just deduct their fee (which is very reasonable) from the check they send you. You can also order books directly from them (at cost) to have a supply to sell at lectures, etc. As a bonus, they can also format and send the book to KDP Amazon, which will thgen release it as a Kindle book...sold also on Amazon.com. That being said...look for a Paypal from me in the next few days...looking forward to seeing your stuff!

Christopher,
I watched all the videos and had several good laughs just watching you. Love your sense of humor --and your creative thinking. In fact the I changed the warm up in my library show this year as a result of watching these videos. WOW, MOM will be so pleased!;). As for the book -- I vote for an actual book. Can't stand e-books.

Mike, thanks for that. I'm looking it up right now! For the record, I also have a birthday mom that has agreed to let me video my show at her party, so if the book costs next to nothing, the donations will go to putting out a dvd. So either way it will be going to some sort of project.
Scott, I've had so much fun with that trick. And I didn't think about it, but it makes so much sense for a reading show. Just so you know, you can get a ton of mileage out of the kids calling you 'Mom,; and reacting, "I'm not your mom! Now who can tell me what word this is?" Oh and the final reveal doesn't have to be 'magic.' You might be able to figure out how to work 'reading' or 'books' in for the final reveal. |

I've been bloggerized! Lief David interviewed me for his PartShowPartBusiness blog...
http://partshowpartbusiness.com/2013/06/christopher/ P.S. - Mike, I want to thank you again for your suggestion. I think createspace looks like the way to go. Compared to normal printing (even just printing one book at a time), it's as affordable or better than printing in bulk. Plus, there's the perks of being on amazon as well as having a kindle version. Thanks again! P.P.S. - I think I have the birthday mom in agreement, so I should be getting a video made of my show in late July. Very excited. |

All I can say is over two hours of material is well worth the 10 bucks. I found the first video to be great and all ready went to the craft store to pick up stuff to make some items.
Thanks for the video it will help me with my next kid show. |

Christopher T. Magician Presents Super Secret Bonus video is valuable (worth way more than $10) on a number of levels. It is informative, with regard to both the effects that it teaches and the information on presenting magic to children and (as noted previously) it is very entertaining.
I am glad that my support of this will partially fund another project. Thanks Christopher! |

Thank you everyone for the positive reviews. I'm thrilled you have all enjoyed the video. I was nervous putting it out there, so it's a relief and greatly satisfying that it has been so well received.
As for the book, I'm almost through with the editing phase. Saturday I'm doing a photo shoot for pictures inside the book to go along with the routines. And I'm hoping to get the whole process wrapping up in the next couple of months. Perhaps I'll give a preview of what's to come in the book in the near future. For now, thank you to everyone who has contributed to making this little dream a reality! Christopher |
