Joe has done a nice job highlighting some creative talents. Have to give a shout out to one of my favorite magic creators Steve Dusheck. Steve's creative output is mind boggling. His five volume book series released in the early nineties are treasured volumes in my library. Each volume focused on a different subject including thumb tips, cards, coins, mentalism and close up. Steve's methods are clever and very Tenyo like, and as we know his Ballerina hank was released by Tenyo.
The books are out of print but still relatively easy to find on line a few are here.... http://www.magicbookshop.com/product_inf......id=17019 If you like creative methods you will love these books and be inspired to make a few of the items up. You can see a few of Steve's past commercial items here.... http://www.martinsmagic.com/?nd=gallery&......0Dusheck Steve became quite bitter over the endless ripping off of a number of his effects, as result stopped putting items on the market. Recently his very clever diminishing cards has been released and I highly reccomend it.... http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=etbgsNlUI......gsNlUImE For more on Steve check out his site .... http://www.stevedusheck.com/Steve_Dushec......ome.html |

Ed, Steve has not stopped creating, just stopped releasing to the general magic market. He is a prime example of how supporting or buying rip off products hurts us all by not having access to new creative ideas. It will not change anything but it is too bad.

Is there any info for making my own white silk dancing hank, The ballerina hank is red silk.

You can attach any color silk to Tenyo's Ballerina Hank. Very easy to do in a matter of seconds.

John-O, is Duscheck the inventor of the floating silver bar in the corked test tube? Remember when that was the best levitating effect around?

I think it was called miracle bar. I had one many years ago.

Wunderbar maybe? I still have one. Somewhere...

Yes Wonderbar was one of Steve Duschecks's most popular effects. Like many things he invented it was highly ripped off. A version from India called the Wonderful Bar is still on the market. I think it still holds up as a cool premise for a floating/animation effect.
Here is a clip of magic dealer Harry Allan doing his dealer demo of it... https://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=SHw18MLwsvA Little factoid... Steve originally made the bars from cigarette filters and mylar |

Yeah, that's the ticket, Wonderbar. Total blast from the past eh Lads. A complete miracle to me as a young puke. We hear this ripped-off inventor story far too much gentlemen. It was the same for Lubor & countless others I'm afraid. How could we win that war?
Cool trivia John. Steve had some novel thinkin' there. Cut down the weight was the master plan I be guessin'. There's something dodgy with your posted link. |

Anyone remember "Ricardo's (Frank Pemper) Floating Silver Cube"? I believe he obtained the rights(?) from a young magician.

This link may work better.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHbrgI6SbfY
Julie I remember seeing ads for the Floating Silver Cube years ago but never saw one in person... the ad always intrigued me I always felt it was stronger with Wonderbar to focus on the animations versus the levitation... seemed more believable to me. |

Hey Julie. Haven't read your stuff since the Emerson & West info quest. Is that the one in the bottle?
John. The link's mint now. Sweet routine. |

Hello Inert
Yes, Ricardo's was the square Floating Silver Cube the size of a sugar cube in a corked bottle. Frank used to hawk this product to audience members at magic convention shows. Sometimes a distraction, but I guess he sold enough to offset his registration expense. (I liked the original trick better, too.) Julie |
