For all of you who have purchased the Cradle to Grave dvd, I'm wondering if any or all of the flourishes taught on the dvd are within the grasp of a normal person.
I define a normal person as someone who doesn't have 18 hours a day to practice flourishes and moves. I'm a big fan of flourishes, but how much of the video is practical vs. "straight up eye candy no way am I gonna be able to do that?" And before you say it, yes I know that you have to put in the time, I just don't want to put in the time on a pipe dream. Thanks, Jim.

Actually, the whole DVD is pretty easy, except for CTG. You will have to pratice here and there everyday, but its DEFINITELY feasable. The key is to practice one thing at a time, and you will be surprised how it comes in!

You will be surprised on how much of this you will be able to do. The key is the instruction. It is very clear and teaches every little thing you need to understand what it is you have to do. I've read many reviews all over the net and they all are saying the same thing. On how surprised they were that they could learn this stuff. It looks impossible but it is all within your reach. De'vo did the learning session with laymen so that he would make sure that you could understand the moves. Understanding and performing are two different things but I think you find that you can do most of it.
On the hardest routine, CTG, he spent 45 minutes teaching over and over. Some of the flourishers have even said it was too slow and too detailed for them which means for laymen or beginners without prior sybil knowledge it will be perfect. Also De'vo uploaded bonus videos that teach some basics and beginners material. 4 fans and 2 openers. So now there is about 9 things you can do with little practice. And there are a few things that will require some practice, and one or two that will require alot of practice. Smooth opener, CTG routine(all phases) are the hardest. So go for it. There is plenty of beginning material and material that will keep you going for a long time. What's nice also is that the material builds on itself. So once you learn the very easy flipback you can then learn the flipback fan or the flipack vanish. Once you learn the CTG opener you can learn the smooth opener and etc. De'vo kept the beginners in mind who are now learning top notch flourishes. |

The CTG routine is within reach, however. I got it on the first day, after practicing for about an hour. Then again, I have done a lot of sybils.

You don't have to practice for 18 hours a day lol, why not practice for 1 hour a day for 18 days?
You don't want to rush learning these things, they take time and yeah a lot of practice, effort and pain. Take it easy and it'll come.

Well, sure I was able to DO CTG on the first day, but I think you wouldn't be able to MASTER it in one day especially under 25 seconds, unless you got it on the day where you are able to be awake for 24 solid hours and just practice.

No, you probably misunderstood me. I can do CTG correctly, with all the cards in the right order and no cards dropping, and fairly smoothly. However, I can't do it fast. THAT will take a lot of practice. The basic part is pretty easy to "get".

I found the ctg a little difficult, especially on the last part of the impossible stack, where the thumb and the finger change positions and there is a difficult grip. Any advice anyone? Pm me

Yes, ask De'vo on his private forum. That is what it's there for.

Well I have had the dvd for about three weeks. It is not impossible stuff but more of a knack and time. If you will put in the time and get the knack it will work.
There are some things are dvd that are harder than others but it also depends on your skill level in regards to flourishing. This is really a lot of fun to work on and do. Personally I like the Flip Back Fan the Best. The reactions from lay people and magicians is second to none. |

I have heard that it is a mixture of hard and easy flourishes.
Not for everybody though. |
