I'm not sure, but I think Ed Alonzo just claimed credit for inventing the "disappearance from a box" trick.

He's not claiming he invented it. He is claiming credit for consulting with Neil on it. They are lifelong friends and Ed consults with him on most illusions Neil does on his television appearances. It is very similar to the effect Ed is doing five times a day here at Paramount Kings Island.

Neil Patrick Harris did the box vanish and re-appearance in the audience and wasn't even breathing hard.
