SO Andrew, which one of the latter guys is full of BS, I understand your point, regarding the FBI profilers. So does that mean if I study the Steve Forte, the Darwin Ortiz on card cheating video and a number of other cheating videos, I should be able to get a job charging large sums of money doing consulting work since ?? NO I don't think so....all I am saying here is the MAGIC videos that were released regarding cheating techniques teaches material that would definitly not work so well in todays casinos... not because they are not done well, but its because croupiers are required to follow procedures from shuffling to collectindg the discard to the way the stacks are broken down before shuffle That is how the surveillance team can review videos in fast speed if required.I believe these techniques would really work well in private games as there are not very many procedures to follow. When the casino I was working for hired George Joseph in 1998, it was basically a toss up between George Joseph and Darwin Ortiz.. I would have personally rather see Mr. Ortiz, but unfortunately Mr. Joseph was selected because he allready worked in a casino at the time....BAD choice as he was a magician turned gaming expert as well tha did a lot of sleight of hand, but who has never really caught a cheater in a Loooooong time...No one really learned much from this seminar as 2 major scams has hit the casino since with each scam being worth about half a million dollars(CDN). None of these scams were done with any fancy sleight of hand, it was pulled off with nerves of steel.I sincerely hope that you are not pointing your fingers at me as the person who is full of BS as I have proof of everything I have said in my latter posts...thanks

Sincerly

Jonathan! This is NOT an attack on you.

I wasn't pointing my finger at you or anyone else on this thread as being full of BS. The guy I was thinking of who is full of BS has never had his name mentioned in any magic forum I've ever looked at and never will. So relax.

And my analogy about FBI profilers made the point that people who obtain relevant technical knowledge can still catch offenders without actually having committed offences in their own right. Watching commercially available videos does not qualify anyone to consult in this field. Knowing and learning from people who work in surveillance and from guys who have worked scams is a different matter.

But my question was the same as Jason England's: who are we talking about here? Who are these magicians who consult but don't have the right to do so? I was merely curious and wondered why all the wise people on this thread don't just spit it out.

You've said George Joseph, so you've answered my question. But you're not the only one who has made these comments. Is JG the person that people keep hinting at or are there others because, frankly, I don't know who the heck it could be who doesn't have the RIGHT to consult.

So, does anyone else want to chime in here?

cheers

Andrew

PS. As I said, I don't consult but I know a number of people who do. I'm also familiar with table procedures (though less so on Asian games).

PPS. I don't know Mr. Josephs and really have no comment to make on his abilities.

Hi Andrew, I am not attacking you and I'm glad you feel the same way, not once have I ever heard about you claiming to be a consultant, so my comments were not aimed at you at all, in fact I admire your work with cards... To answer your question, Im not really sure who the other guys on this board are reffering to... I hope I didn't start a big debate here, Im just stating the difference when it comes to cheating in a casino and cheating at a private game where theres no procedures...As for the scams that I have encountered working as a supervisor, all of the scams that were attempted did not involve sleight of hand... I agree with mr. Biro, as the majority of the scams involve a dealer doing false check changes, something that I don't see much in gambling videos as for switching dice in a casino, that would be a really stupid thing to do with todays procedures..... the majority of the videos I have seen regarding gambling expose's only deal with cards or dice, but never the chips, which is involved in most scams.... I have a few vids on some asian game scams such as mah jhong and pai gow tiles...but those too only cover similar moves done with cards except it is explained using the tiles...anyways, to answer the original post in this topic, Its definitly not a good idea to tell the casino you have an interview with that you do sleight of hand, but on the other hand, once you do get a job as a croupier and the casino finds out you do sleight of hand, they probably wont fire you specially if you are pretty open about it..

How many people, so many opinions. Who likes what you say. But casino has a casino - this is, first of all, risk. And you yourself voluntarily risk means. By the way, any online casino is minimal responsibility. And the casino for Canada is not much different from others. Casino must be legal and good when a lot of all bonuses give out.

I am not a special lover of similar games. I don't care about life, even with bonuses, even without them. In general, I think, if there is so many casino online, it is possible to choose that in which the conditions are better. And casino for Canada, too, many generously bonuses distribute new players. So it is worth choosing such where there are many of them.
