Regarding residue, I also use expo markers and have no problems with anything staying on my hands. This routine has been a dream--it's so simple, but it's already the one I use on people who are very observant. I've gotten some of my best reactions out of people who have seen me perform a lot. |

Does anyone have a suggestion for the best dry erase marker to use?
I have an EXPO "Bold Color" and it does not wipe off easily. I am spending too much time removing the X |

People love it. The only dissapointment was, that there is no dry erase Marker that comes with the DVD. I'm asking why? because it's very cheap and I'm sure that many of you don't have the right one at home. Otherwise Thumbs up for a Great Idea of using the Paddle Move!

My niece who is graduating from Medical School asked me to think of an effect she could perform for her Pediatric patients. I decided to purchase Turbo Stick because it can be easily cleaned between rooms and it is very easy to perform. It arrived yesterday and what a surprise - I will place an order for myself this week. This is very visual magic - I love the endless possibilities this effect presents. It requires very little pocket space which will make it great for table hopping. I was very pleasantly surprised by this effect.

Does anyone do the sponge ball routine ?
I think that would be a very logical way to go into the sponges. |

And while I've always considered it a bit weird to carry around a paddle and some sponges, I've found that combining the two like this really makes each item seem more "relevant" and like less of a weird prop. I don't know why. Maybe it's all in my head. |

The sponge routine definitely works! And yes, it does give you a great lead-in for a sponge ball routine.

After I purchased this great effect, I went to the local arts & crafts store to buy a dry eraser. I bought one with a small tip, and after some try-outs it seems the surface of my stick is scratched. Maybe the dry-eraser was too stiff?
Anyway, since the surface is scratched, ink does not wipe off well anymore and the stick becomes more dark locally. Has anyone else experienced this problem and knows how to fix it? Thanks! |

What? What kind of marker were you using to produce a scratch on a piece of plastic? I've gotta call this one a bizarre user error.

Euhm...it's a very commonly used Staedtler Lumicolor - Whiteboard compact - used for drawing on white boards and wiping it off afterwards.
So just like Alex said - a very basic dry eraser... |

I had the same problem with one brand here in the US. I thought I must be doing something wrong and I just tossed that paddle, it never worked right again. Expo brand works well in the US and does not scratch, fine or thick point, not sure what you have available.

Upon looking up that Lumicolor dry-erase, it certainly looks more like a pen than a marker to me. Very fine point, potentially hard, rather different from what I would purchase if I were looking for a marker or trying to mimic the equipment used in the video.
Thanks for the warning. |

I love this thing. For walk around it's fabulous. I know it's kind of an old, corny concept, but in a world where everyone is touting the next coolest gimmick, it's pure fun to see someone's jaw drop from this tried and tested principle. I did it strolling at a cocktail party the other night a million times (slight exaggeration ... maybe ten times) and people were talking about how there must be a little conveyor belt or something on the paddle. LOL. I don't know who gets the credit for what on this trick or who invented it first, but this little guy is a winner. It's simple, easy to carry, amazing and gets great reactions. Plus, I've done it for myself in the mirror at least fifty times and I STILL can't figure out how it works (another slight exaggeration).
At a convention of mind readers, a man sees an attractive woman he'd like to meet. He walks up to her and says, "Hello! You're Susan. Who am I?"

Another guy standing next to us saw a pocket knife the customer had with a logo on one side and he borrowed it and did the move. I'm thinking "please don't do that." Anyway, he did the trick and the customer said "Oh....THAT'S how you do that trick." |
